Listening to the meetings from the perspective of a "newly interested" person?
by stuckinarut2 injust wondering how many others (when you were still in the org) would try and listen to the meeting programmes from the perspective of a newly interested person visiting for the first time?.
i know that i did this, and most times i did, i found it disturbing!
it was not just the "in-house" language and terminology that was odd, but also the actual doctrines, and method of 'teaching' that was odd!.

I used to cringe when newly interested ones came in, we had a guy converted as an adult very intelligent,a graduate with a very good job, gave it all up to pioneer, he invited his folks one time to listen to his first public talk they were both doctors, they never came again, I said hi etc before the meeting started I felt ashamed and embarrassed afterwards for them.

Explanation please on the change of the term "worldly"
by careful ini've picked up from several replies to posts here that the org has stopped using the term "worldly" as it applies to people.
this must have happened after i left.
would someone be so kind as to explain the "rationale" behind this shift?

Macca I sense as the days/weeks/months/years pass by and your awaiting of this fictional tale of some messiah that is meant to be returning you will end up disillusioned and disappointed, put it to bed buddy, no one is returning, there is no rapture, no launch pad to the heavens, no angles or cherubs, no celestial throne with hoards of angelic beings alongside the messiah and god looking down on us waiting to save us, you'll save yourself so much energy and heartache in the meantime.

My friend the 'Super-Dub.'
by joey jojo ini speak semi-regularly to an old friend of mine who i would describe as a super-dub.. he knows i am inactive but over the years i have peppered him with a lot of questions about the org.
that i hoped would make him at least pause and think somewhat rationally about the reality of being a jw in this brave new- post gb 2.0 world.. we have discussed everything from the generation changes, to the u.n. , failed prophecy, flip flops, the reduction in size of the wt magazine, the closing/ consolidation of bethels including lay-offs, jw broadcasting, cart witnessing- etc, etc.. what do i mean by super-dub?
he is a born-in, has missionary parents, he reg.

its not a full proof insurance policy though the "questioning the GB is questioning jeehovah himself" line, and even the R&F probably know deep down the stupidity of that statement hence the hoards that are leaving each year, the local KH is really a social club to them.

Went to a sunday meeting Waterbury, Connecticut, yawnfest x100
by Brokeback Watchtower inwell went on a vacation cross country for 10 days to see relatives, and so decided to drop in on my old kingdom hall to get a look at some old friends i haven't seen in more the 27 years.. came in around 1:15 pm middle of the public talk wearing tight fitting jeans and an old sweat shirt, and sat down in front of person i served with as an elder.
the talks was so boring i can't remember a word of it, i can only recall that it was very disjointed with tremendous leaps in logic, so that my mind could not and would not follow the speaker.
watchtower study was a complete brain shrinking repeat of putting on the new personality or something, with the conductor fishing for baby food comments where none of the 3 or 4 young ones gave any comments only the hard core braindead were answering.

my old PO was a CO at a very young age, early 20's I think, became a special pioneer at 18 , left school at a ridiculously young age as well, didn't make him a very decent person though, he was a power mad idiot in all the years I knew him, a dangerous slimy snake.
