  i was looking for something else and came across this old radio information pertaining to jws.

  wpow - 1330 am, new york

  jehovah's witnesses was one of the first religious organizations to enter the broadcasting field.. in 1923, the international bible students' association (as it was then called - the name 'jehovah's witnesses' waa adopted in 1931) bought the equipment of radio station wdt (see page 1) at stapleton, staten island, which the ship owners radio service was shutting down.. .

  1928 The Messenger PDF

  information on how to download the 1928 messenger in pdf will be given at the bottom of this post.. the messenger was the name given by the watchtower society for an occasional watchtower publication that reviewed conventions for bible students/jehovah's witnesses in the 1920s to 1940s.

  there were issues published for (not a complete list) 1928, 1931, 1938 and a couple other years.

  (perhaps someone else could give a complete list for us?

  Judge Rutherford, Jehovah's Communication Channel

  "receiving the gift, the marching children clasped it to them, not a toy or plaything for idle pleasure, but the lord's provided instrument for most effective work in the remaining months before armageddon.

  " (the watchtower, 9/15/41, page 288.

  this quote from the watchtower concerns the release of judge rutherford's book children in 1941.. now, calling the book "the lord's provided instrument" sounds to me to be saying the book was inspired, just like the books in the bible.. apparently at that time, the jws considered judge rutherford as their direct communication channel with jehovah himself!.

  I like the know the registrations of the autos Rutherford owned. Did he still own Cadillacs after the 1930's? I wonder there are records at the DMV's in California and New York on the make and model of those cars?

  There were other speakers on those records besides Rutherford. One of them was Grant Suiter also,some even had hymns being sung before Rutherford banned singing.

  Old Rutherford vinyl records...

  my mother found some old jw records a couple of months ago, they apparently were what the dubs used to use when they were witnessing, theyd go out with a record player and play these records to people to preach to them.. just wondering if anyone else has any of these?

  im guessing theres probly not that many of them around, i think i have about 6 or so of them and they are quite old, (im at work at the moment so i cant really tell you any more about them) i was thinking that i mite sell them on ebay, maybe ill get a bit of cash for them.. .

  I read on the web years back of a story that after the predictions of the 1925 Tribulation fell through,Rutherford drank much more and in one in which he was found drunk with a bottle between his legs. I wished I had copied that story since it would be hard to find now.
