I have found that the web has changed it's definition over the years of what a cult is, and what a high-control group is. It is somewhat emotional too, because it took me some time to really get my head around the fact that I WAS in a cult - it's emberassing, and denial was the way that I coped.

Like you, Minimus, I thought they were not a cult. My position was that they were a high control group.
I've since changed my mind, and am quite comfortable calling them a cult. 100% cult. Absolutely.

Well, the truth of the matter is that "The Truth" does not have "the truth", yet the glaring truth is that "The Truth" does not equate "the truth". Therefore, the truth of the matter and the issue at hand "Truth" relative and subjective truth does not allow one to fully ascertain what truth is.

the number of my books in academic libraries.
i have authored several scholarly books and monographs about the jehovahs witnesses.
my books and articles on the watchtower and related topics are found in hundreds of university, college and other libraries, and have also been translated into 12 languages.
I agree with old goat - there is no order to destroy those books, and I doubt that any witness would abide by such an order or told to do so.
However, it does not suprise me that active dubs would destroy those books. They resort to 'theocratic warfare' and are above the law in they're own minds.
