Careful of the shadow people - I've never heard of them, LOL.

Howdy Outlaw,
Would you happen to have a link by chance? Thanks if you can post it.
my fave line in this article.
people we represent are hurting, the companies you represent are profiting.

Exactly, 5go.
That's why they're drilling like mad now. It wasn't profitable until recently.
It isn't Bush's fault. How was Bush going to force private companies to drill for oil when we live in a free-market economy? This is the end result of a free-market economy - prices set by supply and demand. And supply IS going down, and going down drastically at the moment - weather you believe it or not.
It isn't even Halliburton's fault. Cheney had nothing to do with it. Halliburton does a lot of things, more in the servicing industry - in laymans terms, the oil companies call them for completion work on wells, among other wellsite services.
There is far more speculation going on in this thread than anywhere in the oil and gas industry.
The world's economy does not revolve around the United States. There are far bigger problems here than a few senators trying to get rich. There are far bigger issues than some idiot driving around in an SUV. Having to pay a little more in fuel is better than most have - they cannot afford to eat.
Can it be logically or reasonably explained?
No, it cannot. You need to have faith based on zero facts before you can understand... also known as circular reasoning.
all i have to say is: wow!
i'd be willing to drop the extra cash needed to get the better performance.
this kind of device will finally allow for "instant on" computers to enter the market.. http://news.cnet.com/8301-13924_3-9952007-64.html.
Yes you did, you sick little monkey.

Elsewhere,
Just think of all that extra pornography you can download!
I'm getting giddy just thinking about it!

You're right Chris,
It's not just the U.S. here - and it's not George Bush. It's all the countries fault. We need new energy sources, and the re-invented energy source now is nuclear.
The next thing that everyone will see is a dramatic increase in Natural Gas. Wait for that one - coming in the next year.
In order to believe one needs proof.
It's like purchasing stocks without doing any research - it doesn't work.

Hi all,
I do agree with some of what everyone says here. I would be certain that high gas prices are here to stay, so everyone should get used to it. Take transit or better yet walk to get groceries. I have friends that live in metropolitan centres that don't even own cars - they take transit and rent cars every other weekend to get around.
Many people are not eating enough worldwide due to food shortages and/or high food prices, so I'd say generally everyone in North America is doing quite well. It will be a huge adjustment period. Europe has had horrendous gas prices for a lot longer, and they have survived. Trade in your SUV's, get rid of your trucks unless you need them for work - get a compact.
The world is in a critical spot here, and any attack from a terrorist group that disrupts oil production in a big way would have huge effects on our economies. Hopefully that does not occur.
thinking back i've seen a couple of examples of brothers who have almost slipped out of the organization.
stopped attending meetings for months, inactive in field service and then come back with a vengeance.
in the two particular cases i'm thinking of both came back as real company men and have risen through the ranks to levels they previously hadn't attained.. i sometimes wonder whether they were consciously struggling with apostasy and chose for whatever reason to plunge back into the organization?
I have had three friends do the 'fade' dance. One came back with a vengance, as you said, which is quite hilarious.
