some kind of drugs to go thru this... ativan, xanax.... something... or i'm gonna make myself sick dealing with saying good-bye to all my life-long friends and family by saturday.... any suggestions on good drugs?

There's a lot of side-effects of those AD drugs - mostly, IMO. It took me a few years to get off that crap, and I'm happy I did it. I started having panic attacks going off Paxil, and had to take Ativan (sp?) once... it was horrible.
Everyone is different, and drugs affect everyone different, so I can't say what they will do for you.

a friend of my wife just called her and said she was now ready to part with her deceased husband's personal property and was going to be having a big yard sale sometime this summer.
her husband, not her, was a third gen. jw elder and she's setting aside his theocratic library for my wife and i to take a look at before she sells anything in the yard sale.
i told her that whatever she did don't put them in the yard sale because some unsuspecting mind could become disturbed if read unsupervised.

when i was active, i was always (usually) proud to talk about being a jw, our faith, reasons for our stupid beliefs on birthdays, x-mas, etc.
now with everything i'm going through, given how much of an impact this is to my life, i want to talk to others about it, like coworkers, and other friends.
but thinking about how i would explain how it's a mind-controlling cult, i feel stupid for falling for it.
I don't like to talk about it with others. People just don't understand.
at one hall i attended for serveral years had a lawn covering large man-made burms with trees and bushes.
it was a difficult yard to mow and maintain.
i have often wondered why we all pitched in and worked so hard for nothing.

I don't know exactly why Canada has this bad rap about our health care. It's not the best, but there is no perfect solution. My American buddies have no health-care, and that suprises me greatly. I cannot imagine worrying about something so critical to our survival, but you must get accustomed to it. Personally, I never travel down to the states without getting health insurance ever.

I have no problem with Canadian health care - it certainly has flaws, but I'd never give it up. It's a bit of a problem up here, but it's better than the alternative.

NO, NO, NO. My advice to you is to prepare. Food is conservatively going up 46% in the next few months and fertilizers are triple in cost with potash being in extremely short supply. Oil, food, energy - things are going to get BAD and lots of people are going to suffer BIG TIME!!!!

this topic, i'm sure, has been discussed many times, but today i am really contemplating the concept of god.. i remember vividly the old testament; the israelites slaughtering everyone in their path, men, women and children at god's direction at jericho, leaving no one alive.
i remember thinking then as a child how cruel that was.
there are many other examples.. then reading the news today i read a section in the world news about india.
It's pretty damned obvious to me that Christianity is not the way to god. It is amazing that it's the same old argument over the 'christian' god when there are many other religions out there, like Buddism, etc. The only reason why we talk of christianity is because we were mostly born in north america or europe. It's funny how nobody opens they're minds to the possibilities....
I'm with the rest - if this is how god runs things, I'll take the dirt nap. The bible is one of the most awful and violent books out there.

Witness Window Washers... how pathetic. I wouldn't get hooked up with any 'brother' no matter what. I can tell you that there are scammers out there, and I was one that got scammed. Anyone having dealings with witnesses beware; they will hide behind the elders and you will never get paid.
my wife excitedly told me that she talked to the wife of an elder that just came back from.
the special training for elders in upper state new york and that the elders are being told .
to go back to their congregations and to get them ready for the great tribulation.. i said to her that is great news !!!!
