Cockoo,
Yep. They crunch anti-depressants like there is no tomorrow.
magic as a "force" has been debunked.
no sane person believes it is real.
(except of course jehoobie - and it makes him real sad an' mean mad!).

i was pondering this today during lunch, and to me it seems that it comes down to whether or not you can accept that you will one day be permanantly gone and anyone you have lost in death will never be alive again.
once a person becomes comfortable with these two ideas, there isn't really any incentive to believe.
maybe it's an over simplification, but it seems to me that this is the heart of the matter.
If somebody needs something to be happy then what's wrong with that? And even then, that is a rather broad, generalized statement.
Wouldn't it be better to concentrate on your own happiness than make other people feel lousy for having a belief?
When I stopped needing god he evaporated into oblivion. He hasn't come back. Your experience may vary and never let someone tell you that you are stupid for believing something. The ignore button on the forum (and in life) is hidden. Seek it out, find it, and use it. It works great. :D

Demon stories used to fascinate me when I was a dubber... I was fascinated that people actually believed them.
I knew a few people who swore they had demon attacks. The stories were, um, stunning.... D: ...ly silly.

Im not aware of an apologist trying to prove that majic exists.
Obviously, it doesn't. Jobie Nitwits use it as a scare tactic.
Don't buy used jeans!! D: They're old and smelly.... those are demons to me.. ;)
with all the tools and information at the disposal of newly awakened ones, it's still no easy task coming to terms with the magnitude of it all.
it still takes a lot of gut-wrenching time and effort to get to the point where you are sure you made the right decision to leave.. .
how did you long-timers (old-timers, respectfully) manage it without crisis of conscience, christian freedom, jwn, jwfacts, freeminds, access to thousands of fellow survivors with stories just like yours?.
I was around when the internet was around HOWEVER, I did no research when I did my exit because, well, I didn't even have a PC. I knew it was bullshit but I was still a walking corpse sometimes, getting freaked out whenever the news would have a story about peace and security.
A few years later when I got one I saw this and the quotes website. Ray Franz's book didn't blow my mind at all.
Common-sense is the WTBTS worst enemy, not the internet. ;)
i reported the other night that we sat down to watch the new video, and while my wife was smiling and laughing while watching the first part, she stiffened and became quiet during part two.
it disturbed her deeply:.
"this is ridiculous.
Chariklo,
You let those things in just a little and BAM! YOU'RE OUTTA THE TRUTH! That can be the only explanation! There is no other...
if i have never used the internet, i would probably return to the borg by now.
.
In my case, no.
I left without the internet on my own accord. Never regretted it, and I don't think that I ever would return unless I suffer brain trauma. ;)
omg!!! WHAT ABOUT LEAP YEARS EVERY FIVE YEARS??? " 7 years ago. 7 x 360 = 2,520 days. A day for a year and, bingo!" So that would be 2,521 years, not 2520 years.
It's still bullshit, though... ;)
Truly I say to you a prophet was amongst you this day...
it happens without warning.
you have a stroke.
you get ms. you are in a car accident.. they put you in the hospital.
They seperate people from society then they abandon them.
They do it with disfellowshipping, disassosiates, and finally, the elderly. No JW would refute that they abandon the elderly with a FEW exceptions. A very FEW. What I witnessed in many congregations was quite simply awful.

I'm more angry at the Invisible Pink Unicorn. She didn't deliver on my 100,000,000 cheque that was supposed to be delivered. >:O
Think I'll go tell everyone how stupid they are for believing in the Flying Spaghetti Monster now. Gotta go, time's a wasting... ;P
There is some irony in there, no?
But that comment was posted as an answer to Zoinks, not you. Please don't take it personally. I'll join in any discussion that I please with or without anyone's permission. :)
