  Forks, tools of the devil?

  hey all,.

  i was reading some shtuff on history and it sez that forks were not widely used until 1750 because the religious said that 'if god wanted us to use forks he would not have given us fingers'.

  so is it true that the fork was brought upon mankind to make them stumble and draw away from god by insulting him by using forks and not fingers?

  i'd like to make a few points which i know i will be eaten alive for, but here goes...... is there really a devil?.

  history of religion has always believed in the devil, but has portrayed him in different lights....he himself transforms into an angel of light, making something that is evil seem innocent and fun.

  his best ploy: having people believe he don't exist...this is to his own advantage.. he is a malignant enemy of god and man!

  Renounce Satan! Become Wiccan ;) I think it's pretty convenient to have someone to blame all your problems on. Even the ancient Egyptians didn't believe that Set was to blame for the misfortune in their life. It is your belief in Satan that gives him form and power. I find it scary that so many people would spend their time preoccupied with absolute evil.

  I find it funny how the media has made the death of a Palestinian more important than the death of an Israeli. So called terrorists can get their point across without killing civilians on purpose. I was sympathetic to the IRA for years. I'm an american and can't stand Pres. Bush at all bacause of the way he is using his presidency to push conservative christian policies. I think the Palestinians should be happy that the U.S. has some kind of leash on the Israeli's at all.
  I just see Europe being pissed because the Israeli's don't give a shit what they think, especially the French. With that said I think that Israel should withdraw and give them another shot. All else fails, take Gaza back and push the Palestinians back to the country they should be in anyway, Jordan. They had their chance after WW2 to get their own country and they chose to fight. Guess what? They lost and now I'm supposed to feel sorry for them?

  Being a former Psych major I can tell you that the Psychology community has said that pedophilia is incurrable. I'm sure that more studying needs to be done but very few doctors want to risk their careers on the subject. As for killing them, I think it depends on the circumstances. There are cases where some of the ages involved were 20 and 16. Mine being one of them, actually mine was 16-19. Part of the problem there is that the law is still stuck in the past. They assume that the female age 17 and below must be some kind of innocent victim thus increasing the myth of female victimhood.
  As for guys/women that prey on children (define that as you will) they should be shot. One bullet in the head to keep costs down. Then use the body for fertilizer.

  side note- After reading my post it looks like I was convicted of something. I was not. I was using the example in my own life where I was age 19 and my girlfriend was age 16. Which I was the virgin and she had been having sex since age 13. Needless to say she was my reason for getting DF'd.

  I was about 6 years old then so I don't remember much. I do know my parents stopped going to the meeting for a couple of years but chose to keep all the JW rules around. In fact they never went to the meetings often enough for me to have JW friends and they wouldn't let me have "worldly" friends either. All I know is my daughter will not have to go through that crap.
  I do, however, remember many talks after 1975 that squarely put the blame on overzealous JW's who were interested in pushing their own ideas. Needless to say I bought that line of crap hook line and sinker.

  Why do Jehovah's Witnesses lie to recruits?

  first let me say this.. i have constantly been hearing of the legendary honesty/intergity of the jehovah's witness for some time now.

  i have also been informed that they are the happiest people on the entire earth.. my problem is this:.

  when a jehovah's witness comes to your door and you actually decide to give them a few moments of your time they never give the whole story as to what you would be getting involved with when you join the watchtower.. case in point.

  Well I was never very good in FS but I always tried. If I got a question I couldn't answer I just made up an answer. I still remember the day I called on one guys house. He was a history prof. who had been all over the world. Man he verbally raped me. My end response to all of that, "Well you have to have faith in what Jehovah is telling you." I left with my tail between my legs like a little doggy. But most of what he said made sense and it stuck so I guess he helped me out a bit.

  Witness Protection Program that is funny. Funny thing is a friend and me called on a house that actually was a FBI safe house. We got about 30 feet to the front door when some guy came out with a badge and a gun behind his back. Needless to say that house was taken off of the KH maps.

  They Stole My Sign!

  i have a sign in my front yard on a main highway.

  it reads, "no child molesters, www.silentlambs.org".. last night evidently, someone took the sign.

  now i live one mile from the kingdom hall, do you think it could have been jw's?

  Well that kind of action is considered acceptable. All of you may think it is funny but this scripture clearly states why it is acceptable to steal an apostates sign.

  1st WTS 3:4-7 4. All praise be to Jah! 5. For you knoweth because the Lord Jesus Christ sat upon the mountain and spoke these words to his apostles who had just finished with his sponge bath. 6. "For I say to you. Anyone who shall make a sign that doth contain facts shall be subject to having that sign torn assunder. 7. They shall suffer the wrath of elderly women in minivans."

  It'll Be A Dark And Stormy Trip To The Pub...

  tonight should be fun in weston super mare.. weston has the second highest tide in the world, and tonight is going to be the highest this year.

  the tv has just announced that a 14 metre tide will peak at 20.45 gmt.

  worse still, the wind is blowing from the west which will pile the sea water over the promenade into the road where i live.

  How do JW's get reinstated?

  i have a friend that was df'd last year.

  he hasn't committed the "sin" in a year and doesn't plan on doing it again either.

  he has been very strong and wants to get reinstated.

  Well I tried for a year also to get reinstated and gave up. It was the best descision I ever made and there are plenty of people who can voich (sp) for that. I do think the main reasons for people wanting to go back is that is all they know, all their friends/family are there, and they've been programmed to think that the world has nothing to offer them but sorrow. It saddens me that your friend can not break his chains of mental imprisonment but in the end that is his descision. If he has a computer tell him to come here and tell his story.
  As far as your question, it depends on the elders and who it is. If your father is an elder you'll be reinstated usually in a few months. I've known an elders daughter who got DF'd every other year and was reinstated withing 4 months each time. So it is more of a status thing than actual repentence. If he was relatively unknown to begin with they'll take their time. They say that meeting attendance is a must but rarely does anyone take note of you as you sit in the back and leave early every time. He has to approach the elders and ask to be reinstated. They do not go to him (unless this has changed since 1990).
  As far as questioning the teachings. Do you not find it interesting that all of what you learn about JW are from JW. It is a combination of 'selective exposure' and 'selective retention'. If I hand you a piece of paper that says the world is flat. Then I tell you, "The world is flat." You look at me funny and I say,"Well don't believe me read it for yourself. I wouldn't want you to take what I say on a blind faith." Low and behold the paper says the world is flat. I've just provided you with the resource material (from me) to back up MY claims.
