If only this was in America, we could blame it on video games or music. By assigning abiguous blame we get to take away the resposibility of the person who committed the act. Damn it's good to be American.

I had a couple of guys in my speech class that gave speeches/sermons on how carbon dating is wrong and the earth is 6-7k old. I was so shocked that anyone actually believed that tripe I couldn't come up with any easy questions to disprove them. Even now, I don't understand how anyone would let religous delusion block common sense.

Did you miss all of the shows on Egypt? The ones where geologists confirm that part of the sphinx is near 12,000 years old. The only reason this isn't more widely accepted is because of Creationists and archeologists who don't want to admit that they might be wrong. Regardless, there is sooo much imperical evidence that the earth is very old. We went through some polar shifts and axis shifts so that is why measuring magnetic decay is not only impossible it is a waste of time.

Jesus and Buddha
by Bhagavad inthere's a possibility that jesus went to india and was influenced by hinduism/buddhism during the "lost years" between his ages of 12 and 30. see the site http://www.atributetohinduism.com/hinduisms_influence.htm.
fascinating info to review.
if it's worth considering, then we might ask: .

Some of you are placing Buddha in the same ideology. This depends on on the type of buddhism but some do not see Buddha as a deity figure but more of a role model to emulate. Paul claimed Jesus to be Gods son even though I doubt Jesus ever actually said that. So you're making Buddha into a God and Jesus into a God which is not entirely true.
On a side note, I love psychology. Being the career student that I am I've taken just about every psych. class my local college has. I think anyone who has a slight interest would be fascinated.

And Jesus looks like a pasty thin white guy made of plastic on my dashboard? You make the mistake of thinking that the image is the deity. This is common for christians since they like to assume things about other religions. If you didn't have the Bible would your beliefs be different? Is the Bible your God? Do you look at your Bible say, "God, I'm sorry I didn't dust your cover today."
People who have statues of Buddha do not think that that is Buddha but merely a representation. I would much rather have a fat happy guy in good spirits. Than a bleeding, suffering aingst ridden deity any day. By the way, there are many different representations of Buddha and not all are the fat guy Buddha. It seems you have the JW training on other religions where they give you just enough information to make you believe they are wrong and how you can find the easiest way to convert them.gsx1138

Considering there are huge illogical gaps in Jesus progression it is possible that he went to India. Also consider that the New Testiment was not written until 70-80 years after Jesus died. The chances of solid eyewitness testimony is iffy at best. The Bible does contradict itself many times but I think the parallels between Jesus and Buddha are more coincidence than anything. I do think you'll see the strongest parallels in the book of Thomas. Unfortunately, the church didn't like the idea of not forcing people to come to their buildings for worship so that book was taken out. Personally, if you take out all the Paul infuenced BS that most christians like to trumpet these days Jesus and Buddha were allot alike. They both wanted peace, love, and tried to help people. I consider both to be good role models.
Francois I know what you're trying to say. However, too many people don't care about knowing the truth/way they just want to be closer to the way/truth than others. This is where the arrogant idea of my religion is the only way to everlasting life. I also agree with you on the Paul influences with regards to women. Christianity has been imbalanced for centuries for being strictly patriarchal. This is slowly changing, for the better, but there is much resistance and this is because of the teachings of Paul not Jesus.

I sent you an email Moe in case it got lost in your millions of fan letters I'm interested in your readings and find it funny that even negative horoscopes seem to apply just as well. I had a Tarot reading at a recent renaisance festival, I'm skeptical of those things so I offered zero info even though she was fishing for some. She was about 80% on the mark. She got me starting school 3 months ago, having two job choices a month before, and me being semi-financially stable up until 6 months ago all correct. Not bad, but my jury is still out.

Virgo (August 23-September 22) : You need to quit picking apart other people's flaws and worry about your own. After all, nobody asked you! You put the "anal" in "analytical." You're prude and prissy and you need to stop being so damn anal retentive!
Pretty close. I'm pretty critical of other people and have my anal retentive streak (the toilet paper has to unroll from the inside). However, I think most people find it easy to pick apart others flaws as opposed to their own. Of course I'm just saying that to make myself feel better.

While I believe in the possibility of aliens I don't buy that as a viable explanation. I've thought of the ball lightening idea but the sky was clear that night. I'm sure there has to be a scientific explanation. I've seen quite a few things I would consider supernatural but I would prefer to rely on science first and supernatural second.
Well I don't work in a nuclear plant Moe so my balls don't glow. Unless it has been awhile between sex then they get a nice blue glow firm believer in self service which is why I'm going blind.
