watchtower society declines to return disputed 100,000 legacyby emilie filou, third sector, 13 february 2008 .
the charitable arm of the jehovah's witnesses should return a 100,000 legacy from a man it expelled for trying to convert call girls, one of the man's relatives has said.. martin davis said the watchtower society should return the money left to it by his cousin donald kennett so it could go to kennett's nephew, who is autistic.. accepting money from a member who had been expelled would damage the charity's reputation, said davis, of dulwich, south london.. kennett was befriended by a jehovah's witness in the 80s when recovering from a serious car crash and joined shortly afterwards, davis told third sector.
he was 'disfellowshipped' from his group in stockport in 2001 after members discovered that he was contacting call girls.. when kennett's mother died in 1994, she had left half her estate to him and half to his autistic nephew.
They need the money. Paying off the victims of sexual abuse from within the Kingdom Hell gets really expensive!

i just disassociated myself after nine long years in the wtbts after researching the history of the wtbts and its founders and their lies, false prophecies and mind-control doctrines.
read my profile for more about that.
anyway, i'm glad there is a wonderful support group for those who have escaped the grasp of the wtbts and enjoy life again without the constant fear that the wtbts instills at every meeting.
It's really great to see such a wonderful support and friendship gathering here. I just recently found some videos on YouTube from Raymond Franz (Ex-Governing Body) and his views are the same as mine. Psalms 146: Do not put your trust in princes, in mortal men, who cannot save. When their spirit departs, they return to the ground; on that very day their plans come to nothing.
This suggests that we should not belong to any religious organization because it separates us. Who does it really glorify? When asked for their beliefs people say, "I'm a Catholic." or "I'm a Methodist." by labelling themselves as a denomination. No more will I put my trust in mortal men.
Has anyone read Raymond Franz's book "Crisis Of Conscience"?

Whenever they would insert themselves in a place of time and say, "See? We fulfilled this prophecy!" I would just roll my eyes in disgust. The 1914 doctrine always felt wrong to me, the "no-blood" doctrine should be a personal choice - not enforced or grounds to be disfellowshipped. The 144,000 anointed being Jehovah's Witnesses who just "know" they are of the Heavenly Hope. Man, now that I think about it I'm surprised I stayed for nine years. Jeeez. Too much elitist attitudes!

I think I came across a bit of information about Russell being a member of the Masons ("No way! Can't be!") and had to find out if it was true. One thing lead to another and saw Russell's cool Pagan pyramid tombstone and how he discovered 1914 by measuring the Great Pyramid passage ways, etc ... it was like watching a great wall come tumbling down.
okay, just to re-introduce myself, i was raised in the truth, regular pioneered for years, and am a member in good standing with my congregation.
i have just recently been shocked to realise that i actually have some doubts about the truth.
it helps for me to focus on one point at a time, and to write down my thoughts in a logical sequence.
Not to hijack this great thread, but it is important to note that the WTBTS assets are over one Billion dollars. Not too shabby for an organization that proclaims to be "meek". I guess those rectangular buildings are expensive to build in 3rd world countries.
hi friends,.
what the bible says about heaven: .
*** rbi8 hebrews 11:12-16 *** .
What does 2 Peter 3:15 mean?
"But according to His promise we are looking for new heavens and a new earth, in which righteousness dwells."
Is this scripture saying the Jehovah God will create everything over from scratch and that righteous ones will live in both a new Heaven and a new Earth? I know as a ex-JW that we don't believe the Earth will be destroyed, but slowly changed into a Paradise Earth, but that isn't clear as to what exactly is "new earth".

Great topic. This is what convinced me to disassociate myself from this false religion. Some thoughts of my own ...
Galatians 1:8 says it best.
"But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach a gospel other than the one we preached to you, let him be eternally condemned!"
So, what gospel does the WTBTS preach? Well, in my nine years as a Jehovah's Witness, we strongly preach that Jehovah is the true
name of God, Jesus Christ was Michael, the Archangel, and that 144,000 anointed Jehovah's Witnesses go to Heaven - don't ask ...
they just KNOW. Trust me on this. I can't show you any scriptures that prove this. Also, that faith without works is no faith at all, so
get your TEN HOURS of service time every month! Salvation is conditional - follow what the WTBTS teaches and you have a pretty
good chance of making it to the New System. Jehovah will destroy all non-Jehovah Witnesses too!
I'm so ashamed I was part of this horrible organization. Thankfully, I never gave a Bible study to lead anyone into it.

Thanks for the warm welcome.
Just thinking about 1925 and how the organization had Beth-Sarim built for the resurrection of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob to crash. What scripture did they get that from because I must have missed it at the meetings? Did it go something like, "And thoust must create a mansion for the ancient worthies in San Diego, California for their resurrection in 1925"? Additionally, Rutherford had two 12-cylinder Cadillacs for them to cruise around in. Was he going to teach them how to drive too?
Rutherford: "Okay, Abraham, hold down the clutch and shift to first gear ... yeah, now give it alittle gas ... just tap it. Tap it! Now let up on the clutch and ... NO! Slowly! SLOWLY! Now, give it some gas ... not too much! TOO MUCH! WATCH OUT FOR THAT TREE!!!"
The Elders are still trying to drag me back in. I had a long sit down with the Presiding Overseer and another Elder to go over my concerns. I told them about Beth-Sarim and they said they never heard of it. ("Theocratical Warfare Strategy") I showed them proof how the NWT makes changes in the scriptures. I showed them the numerous false prophecies. I showed them that the WTBTS was a member of the U.N. "the Great Harlot - a disgusting thing in the sight of God and his people" for ELEVEN YEARS! They didn't believe it.
As for the shunning, it won't bother me. The only thing is that my wife, who was born into this religion, is still very active and refuses to acknowledge my research. She doesn't want to discuss any material - no matter how factual. Also, she has now decided that we will not have children because she doesn't want to raise kids in a household with separate faiths. Thanks, Watchtower!
Sucks to be me.

Hello, everyone!
I still love God with all my heart and feel much closer to my personal relationship with Jesus Christ than ever before. I walked away from an totalitarian organization, but not from my faith in God and the Salvation.
Anyway, just wanted to say "hello" and peace to all!
