Christian questions to ask current JWs
by Christ Alone inhere are some questions that i thought would be interesting to ask a jw if they were open to a free and open discussion.
this assumes a christian worldview that the bible is the word of god.

Why does Stephen pray to JESUS (instead of JEHOVAH) to receive his spirit before being put to death?
Ecclesiastes 12:7 " and the dust returns to the ground it came from, and the spirit returns to God who gave it."
Returns to WHO? Stephen was asking WHO to receive his spirit?
Acts 7:59 "While they were stoning him, Stephen prayed, "Lord Jesus, receive my spirit."

New JW.org video - using the simplified Watchtower to "teach" children
by cedars inwell, now that the new jw.org website is up and running, the videos keep coming thick and fast.. this latest highly-polished production shows an asian family, evidently living in america (or some other developed country), explaining how the watchtower in simplified english benefits them.. here is the link.... http://www.jw.org/en/news/by-region/world/video-clip-helping-children/.
the first thing that struck me was the boys playing football together at the beginning.
it seems playing soccer in pairs (as with the ministry!

JW baptism replaces the "spirit of truth" Jesus sends with the organization.
by EndofMysteries ini just thought, john 16:13 - when that one arrives, the spirit of the truth, he will guide you into all the truth, for he will not speak of his own impulse, but what things he hears he will declare to you the things coming.
jesus says the spirit of truth will instruct you and not of his own impulse.
the wt when baptizing replace spirit with spirit directed 'organization', so that's also why they claim to be the faithful slave and bypass that.

Sparlock Shirt
by donny ini received my "sparlock: the warrior wizard" shirt on saturday and i have worn it to my place of employment today (07/17/12).
i know of at least 4 jw's who work here.
i will be curious to see if they recognize it.

No more 3-day DCs starting in 2013?
by respectful_observer inapologies if there is another recent thread on this, but i have heard from 4 different people in 3 different geographic areas (including someone who does advance work for the dcs), that beginning in 2013 the three day dc program will be replaced by a second two-day circuit assembly.
some people were passing the info along like a secret, others seemed to think that everyone already knew.. if everyone in j-dub land is already talking about this, how is it not all over this forum??.
anyway, can anyone confirm or deny?.

I need movie ideas (My wife is in Salt Lake attending the Sparlock Convention)
by I quit! ini'm on my own for a week while my wife is in utah.
i have some wild and crazy things planned but i need help with my movie selection.
last night i watched "in darknes" a very good move.
