i understand that 1914 (the day of jesus' return) was calculated through the book of daniel.

Truth is only Jehovah's Witnesses belive the destruction of Jerusalem happened in 607 BCE when all other evidence
shows the actual destruction was either 586 or 587 BCE. This is important because all of the WTBTS doctrine on
when Christ's Invisible Return, End of the Gentile Times and "This Generation" are hard-coded. Additionally, it also
makes all the congregations who preach door-to-door "false prophets" to this very day.

Let me give you a little inside information about God. God likes to watch. He's a prankster. Think about it. He gives man instincts. He gives you this extraordinary gift, and then what does He do, I swear for His own amusement, his own private, cosmic gag reel, He sets the rules in opposition. It's the goof of all time. Look but don't touch. Touch, but don't taste. Taste, don't swallow. Ahaha. And while you're jumpin' from one foot to the next, what is he doing? He's laughin' His sick, fuckin' ass off! He's a tight-ass! He's a SADIST! He's an absentee landlord! Worship that? NEVER!

A Dream That Warned Me ...

when i was first studying the "knowledge book" - i remember a dream i had that stuck with me to this day .... the dream involved a very rich man sitting on a throne in a fortress.

he was very large and draped with fine.

When I was first studying the "Knowledge Book" - I remember a dream I had that stuck with me to this day ...

The dream involved a very rich man sitting on a throne in a fortress. He was very large and draped with fine
jewels and gold. He also held a gold scepter and wore a crown. On his chair were the words, "Jehovah".
Another man appears next to him and says, "They are all worshipping YOU now." and he answered back
saying, "Good."

It was a very uneasy feeling. I didn't quite understand it back then, but I told my soon-to-be wife about it
and she didn't know what it meant either. Now I do. The man was the WTBTS who has placed himself
as a "god" over his followers.

I feel this dream was a warning to me, but I just never understood it until now - nine years later.

Well, let me tell you ... my other feeling is like this ...

In the beginning, humans couldn't quite grasp the concept of death. Why do we die? Humans need answers and no answers came.
The impact of death became quite depressing. When a son asks his father, "Dad, why is the sky blue?" and without really knowing
the answer the father says, "It's magic!". This is perhaps the same solution to explain death to the early humans. "What happens
when we die?" and the answer becomes "We go to paradise!". Gods are created to explain events, weather, seasons, etc.
We create these myths to soothe those who can't handle the idea that death, is indeed, final. No afterlife. No paradise. Nothing.
This just won't do. Mankind needs something better ... a better answer than that or we might just become suicidal. So, to calm
the fears - we create bedtime stories that ease our concerns of death. Like telling our children that their nightlight will keep all
the monsters in the closet away. We need Gods to keep our fear of death away. What happens when we die? "Magic!"

I really hope I'm wrong about this. I really do.

Interestingly, Jehovah did try several times to fix the mess that Adam & Eve started. He created a flood to wipe out the
evil ones. Sin continued to follow. He created the Mosiac Law for the Jews. They couldn't follow it or grasp the concept
of pure worship. Human-kind just can't be fixed with floods and strict rules. We're hopeless. So, a last-ditch effort to
save all with a simple ransom sacrifice and the belief of His salvation.

What I don't understand is in Matthew says, "And when the Good News about the Kingdom is preached throughout
the world, to all nations; and then will come the end."

Hasn't this prophecy been fulfilled? I'm sure it is not suggesting we need to preach to the small tribes in the middle
of the Rain Forest ...

So, how much longer? Can mankind last another thousand years without destroying ourselves?

My own thoughts is Jehovah is completely removed from the situation on Earth. He has handed everything over to His Son.
It is like a business - instead of "Jehovah & Son" - the Father gives his son the whole business. As for Jehovah, I'm sure
He is still creating wonderful and amazing things in the universe. I hope we can marvel over them someday.
