With summer coming ... would any ladies like to see Jr. Spagetti Tank shirts available?
If you have a style that you'd like to see added - let me know.
Also, thanks to those who bought a shirt. I hope you'll post your photo wearing it.
the i think im dieing part is for all the new bees.
all the old bees know im rarely ever serious.
but, as long as you have read this far.. .
Fortunately, the JWs don't baptise the dead. That shit wouldn't fly with me. I have a Mormon friend who has baptised a dead woman. They have a pool that is used to lay (float) the body in and they get into the pool and perform their ritual. It's disgusting.
i don't know if this has been posted .
the president from trinidad & tobago attends the memorial.... the president of the nation (george maxwell richards) attends the memorial at a local kingdom hall in trinidad & tobago .
everyone is wondering well, who invited him & how?.
If they would start putting creme cheese on the matzoh - I would have partaken in the emblems.
anyone who is d'fed(like me- dont miss it) or disassociated, etc who may be in dire need.
i know that when u are disfellowshipped u are not allowed to associate with anyone who is a witness and they are suppose to shun u the rest of your life until u come to your "senses".
but anyway what i want to know is if im on the side of the road bleeding to death and one of jw recognize will they stop and help me or anyone for that matter.even when i was in the "truth" i always wondered about that since they are not supposed to have any contact with u. where do they draw the line when it comes to shunning people?
JWs can't even have lunch with someone who is DA/DF.
There was one time that I approached a brother at the bulletin board who just lost his mother and I went to tell him how sorry I was to hear the news. No more than 30 seconds pass and I get a hand on my shoulder and ushered into the backroom and told that the brother was disfellowshipped and I was to have NO CONTACT with him.
Christian attitudes? Nothing of the sort.
sunday, may 18th was my big day.
i decided to go to beth sarim, home of the princes and ancient worthies.
so i loaded up the truck and rolled out, wondering what do you do when you meet someone so ancient that the roman empire was a mere twinkling in jehovah's eye.
Most likely scenerio: The WTBTS gives the needed money to a trustee who gives it back as a "gift" ... there, that's how it's done.
i wasn't raised a jw, but my wife was and everytime the co makes a visit to our congregation for a week - we had to make sure nothing was going to interrupt our meeting attendance.
vacation planned that week?
change it.
I wasn't raised a JW, but my wife was and everytime the CO makes a visit to our congregation for a week - we had to make sure nothing was going to interrupt our meeting attendance.
Vacation planned that week? Change it. We're going!
Family visiting that week? Insist they attend too. We're going!
Bad weather? Risk it! We're going!
Sick that week? Get better. We're going!
Death in the family? Too bad. We're going!
So, what was the big deal about attending the meetings during the CO visit?
It's just some guy moaning about how the R&F aren't measuring up. Why should I want to listen to that?
it occurrd to me that maybe there was some independent thinking going on in the bs.
maybe the gb was afraid of small groups thinking too muchand having them all meet at the kh would put paid to any groups that were becoming a bit liberal.
as is known small bible study or at study groups were not allowed at bethel.
Well, you'd think they would put a stop to that FAST and not wait eight months. Between now and 2009, those independent thinkers are going to cram as much into those remaining Book Study nights before the gig is up.
look closely at this new picture of beth sarim posted by kurtbethel: .

you can clearly see king david looking out his bedroom window!
Think King David wants to play a few hoops?
i was still in the "troof" a couple of years ago when my mom said that to my face, in front of my husband no less.. he was a jw as well, he couldn't believe it.
my reply was "well i will give my life to save my children and if god sees fit to punish me for that - that's his choice".

All these comments remind me of a scene from SPUN with Mikey Rourke ...
