as i mentioned before in another thread, my dub aunt, along with several other witnesses, told me that they were specifically told that the governing body let it be known that tract work would trigger the beginning of the end by infuriating the other religions and somehow causing the governments to "turn on babylon the great".

one thing i mentioned is that they were smart enough this time, not to put anything down in writing, but simply let it get around by "word of mouth".

do you believe the watchtower organization is inserting them, or individuals are doing so on their own?.
having looked at the images that people have found and pointed out, i have to say that i don't think they are there at all.
just random patterns that happen to look like something familiar.

Dave, I have to agree with you. When I get bored at the hall such as during a W.T. study, I look at the pics in the publications and can always find something that resembles a demon or other strange oddities. I think a person can do this with ANY picture and those that get excited thinking that the art dept. put them there ....are grasping at straws. As was mentioned, there are plenty of ligitimate fallacies without looking through artwork to find them.
As you say.......there is no motive that would make any sense.

But I did hear from more than just a couple of Witnesses, that this tract work was suppose to be the catalist that triggered everything, and that it should start by the end of the year. So I'm just wondering what excuse they'll come up with 6 months from now when it's obvious that the tract didn't do squat. Has anyone heard any mutterings yet from the faithful?
I would think that when the U.N. was made aware of how the witnesses portrayed them in their publications that it would have more of an impact on their fate in the governments eyes, much more than on a tract from a bunch of religious zealots saying religion is going down, and nuts that have screamed "be saved and repent" on the street corners for decades.

Here's what I saw concerning this event.
First of all.......NOWHERE in Matthew 24 does Jesus ever mention that religion apart from true religion will be destroyed first or as THE sign that the Great Tribulation has begun as the witnesses would have you believe.....NOWHERE. Jesus doesn't say ANYTHING about the pagans being destroyed first....and then there being an attempt to destroy gods people but rather he ONLY mentions persecution of his diciples.
One again, the society draws their warped doctrines from other scriptures as the building blocks for their screwed up interpretations to fit their personal dogma....rather than use the scriptures surrounding the subject itself.

What happens when tradgedies strike believers, how does god benifit them and do they not have the same fate as the non-believer? Doesn't sound like much of a fair payoff for living your life to this god to me if you suffer the same calamities as the wicked and that's all you get in life.
