i ask this question: lets say for a moment the jw world does come crashing down (very unlikely).

who would fill the void left by the jws?

From a biblical point of view I feel different.
The bible teaches that salvation comes by grace from God by accepting his son and having faith in him and what he taught.

The Witnesess believe salvation comes by "WORKS" By being good enough to the end you can have life.Then after a thousand years you can lose your life again if your not good enough.

If they were to change this attitude to the true Gospel, they could use all of their facilities and their people to a usefull purpose.

I do not feel it will ever happen. Look how long the catholics have lasted with their offbase heirarchy arrangment and doctrines.

JW's not a cult or sect just Christians...

jw's not a cult or sect just christians , would be the impression you get if you asked most people.. oh yes they get anoyed when they get woken up on saturday morning , they know a bit about there stand on blood and christmas, but not much else.. hey i went to my local libary today to see what books they had on jehovahs witness.first i did a search on the computer for coc, gentile times.. e.t.c none came up.so i went to the religion section to have a look.. lots of books on mormons , christadephians , christian science oh jehovahs witnesses ,damn its the procliamers book.. then i found a book millions now living will never die not the rutherford version but writen by an ex witness in the 60's.

(i noticed a lot of critical notes hand writen in there by people who have read it i bet they never told anyone the'd read an apostate book).

it was the only book in the libary critical of the witnesses.

If they are not seen as a cult....they are definately looked at in a bad light to most people.Most...would NOT want their family involved.
Those who don't care do not know of their teachings.

Tell anyone about the dubs beliefs and see how they respond.Shunning, blood, apostasy, etc.
Then ask them if they think they are a 'CULT"

My answer is from what I feel the bible teaches. God has the RIGHT , to demand worship and obeidiance from those he made.

If satan promotes actions against God...as the bible say's he does... then he and those who do the things he advocates are self responsible

A lot of them...they were told not to and they did it anyway. They were warned first.

2. How many men did Moses kill in one day because they failed to say they supported God?
A lot of them. They knew he was the true God by what he did for them but still withdrew their support.

3. How many people did God kill in a plague before someone pleased God by ending a mixed marriage with the murder of the couple?
A lot of them. They were told not to have mixed marriages but did it anyway. They were warned first.

Comment: Those who's lives God took knew of him and his people. The word got around. Read Joshua.

Seems to me they all had a chance to choose for them and their offspring.

a lot of people have been wondering about the dateline program date concerning jehovah's witnesses that is scheduled sometime in the future.. you can review ahead of time the upcoming programs on their website at this address: <www.msnbc.com/news/dateline_front.asp> and then click on the upcoming stories.

while this does not give you information for months down the road you will at least know the near future subjects.. outaservice

there is that old story i'm reminded of sometimes about the world being full of three types of people.

the people who make things happen, the people who watch things happen, and the people who have no idea of what is going on.

i thought you might want to at least be in the second catagory so i wanted to share something i found interesting with you.. i have two short poems and a short story for you to read below, and if you care to read these you might find something quite remarkable about them.. long years have passed.

a recent thread mentioned the possibility that gb member dan sydlik may well be on his death bed.

is there any news on this?

His sister was one of our circuit overseer's wife. Sister spacial..if I spelled the name right.

Prisca...it is still intresting to know the old guys are nearing extinction and the new blood could make some big changes possibly.

i figured it was about time i spoke up...i da'd myself october 2000 after reading several experiences here on the net and after doing some of my own research i came to the conclusion that i had been "sucked" in.

i have lost a great many friends including my best friend of 18 years who by the way i "converted"..hows that for a kicker?..yep..wants nothing to do with me now...anyways...i just found this article on msn's website and thought you may enjoy reading it... jen.

I lost an entire lifetime of friends and all my family except two sisters that were able to get out.

I't's too bad it happens this way. I hope you find some good friends and that you are happy.

I too have a whole family "in" that I "converted" and wish I could talk to them now.
