OK anewme....would you mind explaining in detail what she meant till she gets back here and answers the question. James Thomas is at the bar and won't be around till tomarrow around 11 when he wakes up...so yer gonna hafta cover for them.

i have been studing it for years looking for answers....yet for every answer i find there is a counter to it.
the words themselves are twisted by leaders/teachers to fit their personal opinions and adgendas, as well as twisted by trying to rely on our own reasoning to understand them.. a good example would be the way our current system of laws work.. if the supreme court writes a law into the book..say for example.."evil" is anyone who does this....... it is then turned over to a bunch of undereducated enforcers to interpert and judge others they feel are "evil".
they are allowed to accuse and shoot first asking questions later.

Our dear Gumby, Poppers is talking about looking towards the SOUL for truth.
But you are always looking at something else. That is why you do not understand the saying.
OMG!! They got to you too!!! How many more of these poor people have you sucked into your clutches Mr. James E. Thomas......you bastard!!!!!! Gumby

Poppers, no offence gal, but i'll bet it ain't just me...i'll bet nobody else can explain these words of yours either,
The truth that I am pointing to is that which is found in the stillness of the eye, the silence of the mind, and the fullness of the heart.
Without being poetic, please explain these words like you were talking to a kid and maybe others would have a clue. I'm serious. I'd like to hear what exactly you mean and I ain't bein a smartelic either.

i think some people actually use part of their real name.
i chose mine because i really feel 'in between', in that space where your not a jw anymore but really haven't figured out where you are in life and what path you want to take.
just thought it would be an interesting topic.
Stealyourface,
I felt the only honorable way out was seppuku.
What the heck is seppuku?

the elder's handbook gives specific areas in which tactics might be developed by some to avoid unwanted disfellowshippings - .
the following appears in that manual - .
baptized persons who have not associated for some time .. if you learn of serious wrongdoing on the part of such a. person, the matter should be investigated if it poses a. threat to the congregation's cleanness and welfare or causes.
Mornin Seeker, damn, I thought at your age you wouldn't be up and around till around 10 o'clock.....ya old bastard!
If there is a decision to disfellowship, the person is supposed to be allowed 7 days in which to appeal. You can't really appeal unless you know the decision that has been made, can you?
Now there's a point that could be won in a court of law since the Elders manuels do not make an allowence as to not giving 'apostates' a chance to appeal. They only state ( if I'm not mistaken), that if "reasonable attempts" have been made to notify a publisher that they need to meet with the elders and the publisher will not respond, then to proceed with an announcement if the body has decided to disfellowship/disassociate the publisher. A letter is supposed to be sent to the accused, that way they have a record that they followed their printed guidelines and this they feel exempts them from accusations against them.

i have had about 5 digital watches since my nde when i was young.
every single one of them reset itself regularly.
2 of them i gave away because of the problems i had, and their new owners (my father and brother) never had a problem with the watches since..
Yeah, today I looked at my watch and it was 14:43 o' clock! I actually had to think about what time that might be and figured out it was 2:43.
Just add or deduct 12 hours. For instance, if it's 0100, you don't have to add anything because it's not after 12 p.m. At 1pm add 12 and that's 1300. . . and vice versa. . . if it's 1300 deduct 12 and it's 1pm.
But MsMcDuckett, wouldn't it be just easier for me to throw the damn thing away? I ain't in the army....so why do I need an army watch?

I'm not sure of Seekers congregation and the Elder mentality that existed there, but some Elders are not familiar with the fact that they can indeed end up in court, and of the fact that the society will not bail them out if legal matters are pursued and they lose for some reason. I don't know if this was Seekers case or not.
Thought they might win, the society doesn't want the exposer anyway nor a can of worms to open with DFed ones in court battles that could lead to exposer to the media in time if rebel apostates pursued it enough.
It was several months after my letter was written that I heard through the grapevine that I had been announced as no longer one of JWs. Interestinly they NEVER contacted me again. I've never been notified of any action on the part of the congregation. Weird.
I was never contacted again either when I was DFed. Many are not.
What type of notification from your congregation are you talking about you expected to recieve? The society has a policy that "known apostates" are not to be called on by the elders...so if you were seen as one, your elders wouldn't contact you.
I'm only asking because I don't remember reading your story and I don't understand the statements in bold.....but I'd like to if I knew where the link was...(hint

I knew, I was looking down at myself from the ceiling. I could see my parents working to revive me. I was vaguely aware of a tunnel to my left, but I didn't pay much attention to it.
I do not doubt that there's a chance this could be something spiritual, but my feelings tell me this could be a mind play that the mind many times does if deprived of blood and oxygen to the point of death. The tunnel story is nearly always there. Which means what?
The person is always above himself when in reality, he perhaps see's himself above him but the mind is saying the perspective is coming from himself looking down on a situation he's going through. A mind trick.
Now...the watch thingy is weird and I have no answer for it.....but I wonder how many "other" similarities with experiences there are with those who have experienced a true NDE. Who knows...everyone that's had an out of the body experience might have their right nard that's hangs lower than the left one and ya never even noticed it! BTW...you oughta check yours right this minute young man and see.I might be right!

FMZ...ya little bastard buddy of mine. How is ya?
I guess you'd have to define.."Near Death". Some seem to take it as.."they 'thought' they were gonna die", and others may feel it means when a person has an out of body experience.
I "could" have died, and thought I might die when I was ran over by a watercraft about 4 years ago. I have no problems with my watch.....other than how the hell to turn off the alarm I can't set..to turn it's ass off. This watch was a freebe Circle K job that has 4 buttons as big as a nats ass...and it tells me the time in army time!!! Yeah, today I looked at my watch and it was 14:43 o' clock! I actually had to think about what time that might be and figured out it was 2:43. Damn me, I oughta throw the bastard watch in the trash, but I'm too cheap to go out and buy a spendy one for 5.99.
K, back on topic
