so i was watching shark week a little while ago and i got to the episode on prehistoric sharks.
they, of course, discussed megalodon, but they also talked about other sharks that were vicious, precise hunters.
then i started thinking about other prehistoric creatures..... t-rex, raptors, etc...... all vicious animals.
jgnat, Ken Ham is an idiot. As a Catholic, I'm taught that God created the Big Bang and that evolution was God's way of developing humans. Even some educated Catholics still believe in the first 11 chapters of Genesis as fact, not myth, which blows my little mind.

I am wiling to take in refugee/illegal children until something can be done with them. I could set up a couple of beds in my basement. But 80% of the refugees aren't children and many 20-21 year olds are claiming to be 17 so they can get in as children. We simply can't absorb these people.
I propose we spend money, instead of on maintaining illegals, on money earmarked for infrastructure in their home countries to help them get jobs and decent homes so they have a reason to stay where they are. Helping to solve the problems in their countries of origin is a better way to keep illegal immigrants out of the USA. Regarding the ones who are already here, fly them back to their home countries and subtract the cost of caring for them from the amount of aid we send their home countries.

had a pretty deep conversation with my 'still-in' wife.. came home from some business, read some more in c.of c.. then my wife is sick and will not make the meeting tonight.... .
so we're are both home listening in to the meeting on the phone together.. it's been about a year since i've been to/listened to anything.. .

Once I heard the speaker say something ridiculous (to me) and I actually laughed out loud--at the KH. My mother was sitting next to me and slapped my hand, which made me laugh even more, given that I was in my 30's. Once you've broken free, it's hard to grasp that you ever believed that stuff and devoted your whole life to it.

My mother just went to the IC and is presently a total b@%*ch. I stopped by to visit my dad and stayed outside with him. My autistic son went inside to visit his grandma. She took him by the arm, led him outside, and then shut the door behind him. I guess she's too good for her grandchildren now that she's been infused with holy spirit at the IC.

Fascinating stuff. My son has scoliosis and also has a shorter trunk and longer legs as a result. Shakespeare was probably going for effect, as it was just a play after all, not a historical document that he was writing. Kinda like Oliver Stone and his "biographical" movies. Post here again when the political issues are discussed, it will be fun reading.

Shunning is wrong because it completely ignores the dignity of the human person. We all are imperfect, even those who shun us for our "sins", but who is to say which sins are worse than others? Should I shun my mother because she is prideful and hateful? Those are serious sins. But it comes back to "love the sinner but hate the sin." Better to associate with these people and try to "convert" them away from their bad conduct by the good conduct you display, as an example. By that I mean you wouldn't have a murderer over to dinner and say, "See, I have a great life because I don't kill people," but you might associate with a gossip and cut her off when she starts gossiping, telling her you'd rather not hear such things being said about your friends. There's just a much better way of helping people remove the "splinter" from their own eye than shunning them for being human.
