millions of people have left the jehovah's witness organization.
how do these former witnesses fit into the world outside the organization?
on saturday's call we are going to find out.

firstly my thoughts are with anyone who lost loved ones in this terrible trajedy.
the other point i wanted to make was i remember the witnesses here only seeming to be bothered about 'the brothers' in new york at this time.
made me feel sick !
We had some info. long after about Bros. from Bet-Hell going down towards ground zero with Bible in hand to offer comfort. I'm sure that was a great help, I mean how many thousand more practical and loving things can you think of that someone on the spot could have done?
I am disgusted at their inhumanity.

just for a moment imagine that we had visitors from outer space and they said they were here representing god.
suppose they gave a good expalantion, saying that they are showing themselves because we are on the verge of annhiliation with wars, genocide, and toxic poisoning.. suppose their remedy for the situation was a new teaching which was basically some metaphysical-type platitudes.. and the first thing that has to go is individuality.
they would use more esoterical language.
It was the Washtowels harping on about independant thinking being bad that first got me actually angry at them,(and I am mildness personified----- and modest!) I thought then NOBODY is going to tell me what to think!
It is noteworthy that many of the survivvors of 9/11 were independant thinkers, and all beneficial innovations for the human race seem to come from independant thinkers.
So lets get our thinking caps on and save the planet by ourselves!

I agree about the smell of a good cigar or pipe tobacco, I havn.t smoked for thirty seven or so years now,but you are always an ex-smoker not a non smoker, bit like ex-witless,
I may just have a cigar at Christmas,is it too early to wish you all a pissy-chrissy?

i just got a fresh supply of yellow pages books.
three huge volumes in a plastic bag.
it's my 3rd shipment this year, from various suppliers, i assume.
Here in the U.K we only get one bok a year, bloody huge thing , so you have to throw away the old one,or treat it as a roundabout. the online thingy called Yell.co.uk or similar is so user UNFRIENDLY,and not inclusive of all entries, that it's quicker and more comprehensive to use the old book.
Hey maybe I'll start a decent site that works and make my fortune.(Simon please remove this post before some money grabbing b'stard nicks my idea!)

most of my family have been members since the early 1970's.they attend 3 meetings per week, fly or drive to summer assemblies, preach the average 10 hours per month, and read the same boring watchtower magazine week after week.
the congregation has lost nearly all the young teens, many have quit attending all the meetings, some divorced, and some members just going thru the motions.
i'm never going to question them on why they still remain members but shouldn't all the promises of "this generation never dying" make them question the wts.... just a little?
Thank you Barefootservant,
I believe you have it spot on,but how can we break through that mindset,I have nearly all my close family, and some dear friends still"in". I know this has been discussed but how do we help them to open their eyes and hearts?

" (this would harmonize with matt 10:9 that tells them not to take any money with them).
" the interpretation of the acts of the apostles, 1961, pp.120-21.
it became evident, however, that further personal training in the house-to-house ministry was needed.
Thanks Mary! Very well done! it's given me some excellent ammo. to use when I get my next shepherding call. The accusation that I no longer preach and therefore do not respect my baptism vows was thrown at me,mind you I was dunked under the old 1960's vows,so that is cobblers anyway.
It's funny but the two guys who have been to see me don't seem to be in a hurry to return since I left them with the sort of questions you and the great Blondie pose.
Keep up the good work!
