A BIG change the Watchtower will have to face up to . . .
by nicolaou in1995 drew a line of demarcation.
the doctrinal rudder of freddie franz was gone, the sacred cow of the 1914-generation had been slaughtered and the internet had arrived!.
it will take a while longer but the time is coming when pre-1995 old timers like the gentleman below will be an impotent force within the society - if that hasn't happened already.

I agree with your O.P Nico, we can see it happening now, the Internet is such a wonderful aid to fiding even the most obscure information.
I believe too that as the 3rd world countries and the poorer immigrants to richer nations get connected to the Net we shall see a large exodus of these good people.
They often get sucked in because family members already are in, and they will leave as families too. These people are often very concerned with moral values, and on the surface they find that the WT/JW religion seems to be a moral one, but once they discover the underlying foundation of lies they will not want to stay.

I have a friend who was in the SAD church for most of her life, we have compared notes, very similar methods and practices, uncanny that often the very same words and phrases are used to control and put fear in to one who has doubts.
I just like the comparison of reports because of the oft repeated rubbish by JW's "We are the only ones preaching world wide"
The SAD church at least baptises in to the name of the Father , Son and Holy Spirit, not into their organization. Even so, they are peddlars of falsehoods.

Are they admitting to a "fifth column" within their midst of professed annointed with a "mentally diseased" state , surely that = apostate ?
As to the stats. it is interesting to look at how the Adventist movement,(of which JW's are a sect, as Russsell never DA'd from any of his connections), is doing.
The SAD Church reports in 2009, (The 2010 is not on line yet ?) in round figures 16,000,000 members, 1,000,000 baptised and around the same number of Congregations as JW's in about the same number of countries.
Looks like the church they split from is doing a tad better than they are. The SAD Church's published financial report is a lot more open too.

"Thank God that the end did not come in 1914!
by wolfman85 in"thank god that the end did not come in 1914!
yes, because if it had arrived in that year none of us would be here.
jehovah is giving more people time to come to his organization.".

Are you implying that JW's use faulty reasoning ?

Matthew 24:45-51
by ilikecheese ini'm sure this has been brought up before, but how can anyone claim that this is establishing some sort of organization?
it's beyond out of context, if you just look at verse 45 or 45-47. it's clearly about the contrast between people who are always behaving themselves and people who will only behave themselves when they think jesus will return.
among all of the stuff that i've learned after the bf tried to get me interested in jw-ness, this is one of the dumbest bible quote mining or scripture twisting i've encountered.

Even a staunch Bible literalist that I met recently, so staunch that he believes the earth was created in 6 literal days, said this, and all the other parables cannot be taken literaly.

Depends what has driven the upward trend thus far.
Perhaps someone in the foreign language congregations could confirm if perhaps more are partaking there ?

I see some "Overlapping Annointed" Noo Lite a coming ! Quite how this will work, who knows, but like the Generation and Blood doctrines before it, it is bound to be even more far fetched than what they started out with.
Abstain from blood= simple. Fractions (some) acceptable=complicated. (So complicated that JW's do not understand it)
The generation of 1914 is the last one= simple . Overlapping generations=complicated. (Ditto with JW's explaining it, most are not aware of the doctrine)
144,000 a literal number=simple (if illogical) Noo Lite= complicated you can bet.
Thanks so much for the stats and graphs, your hard work is appreciated JWfacts.

I think it would be more realistic to have a poster with the conversation she had with Joseph about the pregnancy.
Must have been a hoot !

I just hoped it would be corrected to "discreet", which is what is in the parable, not discrete, so as JW's wouldn't latch on to the use of the wrong word and ignore the rest of the letter, which is one of their favourite tricks.
