On giving blood

hi friends,.

we have a drive at our new ajwrb.org site for donating blood for witnesses!

great publicity campaign, as people will finally realize that jehovah's witnesses do take blood transfusions!time to end the word-game charade.

"What better way is there to count your time" I love it Dogpatch ! Hits home, but is so true ! For once JW's can actually take part in a real "life saving work", by donating blood.

Their doctrine of not taking blood for themselves is in tatters, and since they do take the fractions that are "approved", they should donate so that there are fractions available for their brothers to use !

The argument against donating is even more silly, (can you believe that's possible ?) than the main doctrine.

Here in the U.K if you donate, there is no payment, it is pure altruism, and you look around at all the other good people donating as you do it, and think, the world is full of good people.

I found a number of WTrags at a place of business I went to, I threw all bar one in a nearby trash can when no one was looking, in the one remaining mag I wrote "See JWFacts.com"

Is there one Bible Prophecy.....

in the form of a prediction, that can be proven to truly be a prediction,i.e written before the event, and it came true ?.

it would be good not to have time wasters on this thread in the form of the common ones that are brought up to demonstrate the bible's prophetic prowess, like cyrus being named , these have been debunked already.. but does there seem to be a genuine prophecy in there somewhere ?.

guilt trip

i've been away from wt for a while....i'm all of the sudden dealing with so much guilt.

you know how they say "there is no excuse"?

no matter what happens you have to go to meetings/service etc.

Does anybody still believe in God and the Bible?

i just want to know out of interest how many here still believe in god and christ and that the bible is god's word.

my faith in the wts is gone but i still love god and his son.

i've noticed that many here have lost their faith in god as well as the wts.

Dear Tornapart, your attitude is wonderful ! I have the utmost confidence that you will find your way through the jungle of ideas that are out there.

Use your mind, your critical thinking skills, and in no time your BU*l SH*T detector is working 100%

Read books .articles, posts on the Internet,whatever comes your way, just do not close your mind to ideas and opinions that may challenge what you believe and feel at present. Those ideas may, or may not have validity, you will have to decide, but the more you learn the easier it gets to decide.

For myself, I will not accept merely the thoughts or experiences of others as something I could base my life on, or my "beliefs", though in truth I do not have beliefs, I will only trust as valid things that are testable and have solid proof to back them up.

Faith is a waste of ones life, faith is easily misplaced, and you are open to manipulation by others who are aware of your beliefs that have no proof.

Do not squander your freedom, use it to your best advantage.

Question for those who know

as you all know i am not the sharpest tool in the ice box, the old lady is!.

can anyone tell me if it is in the elders book that is says if an elder commits serious sin doesnt report it and is found out, but, has the respect of the congregation it is assumed it is forgiven?.

also, one comment i read states that elders were told to destroy certain files when the data protection act came out in britain, what were those files and does anyone know anything about it?.

Why do they not apply the same ruling to the rank and file ?

They will come after you years later if they have proof and you are just a pleb, "God's spirit directed organisation" my ass.

after having been raised in the jehovah's witnesses for 44 years ( getting out 6 years ago ) i have now come to peace with my view of what i personally feel about the existence of god , or no god, or whatever is flying around up there in outer space.

i am basically agnostic for sure / perhaps leaning atheist and i've come to that decision based on the years and years of unfulfilled false promises of being in a mind control cult ( jehovah's witnesses ) claiming to represent an alleged " god " or " jehovah " saying there would be a paradise, and armageddon to destroy 99% of the earths population.

also- i enjoy helping others without thought of being rewarded for it.

The legal sytem wishing to not get involved is understandable with the U.S constitution being what it is, but here in the U.K the same attitude exists, hence it is nigh on impossible to insist that laws like the Human Rights Act should apply when someone faces a JW Judicial Committee.

If the law was followed, the "defendant" would have all sorts of rights that are considered vital to the workings of justice in normal courts, the right to see evidence against you,time to prepare a defense, the right to a qualified defender, the right to record all proceedings etc etc

None of these things are allowed for the accused in a JC, if it is not a court, why call it a JC ? if it is a court, albeit an ecclesiastical one, why cannot it act for justice as much as "worldly" courts do ?

Because a JC is actually a Star Chamber, Kangaroo Court run by janitors in cheap suits, who know or care nothing for justice.

This ruling by the american court is a bad day for justice.

Does anyone here believe in ET's? That we are not alone on this vast Universe?

being brought up a jw until age 25. i never made an attempte to search anywhere else for information until i moved out (thank god).

thanks to the internet,, my curiosity led me to different websites, books, documentaries and video presentations.

one of the topic at large was ufo's i remember there was an awake (inthe 80 or 90's) but was too young to comprehend or figure out what it was.

I am very confident that life exists elsewhere in the Universe, this is about the only faith position I hold in life.

I call it a faith position because there is no proof as yet, and may never be, it could well be that we are just too far away for any kind of contact.

But, man moves ever forward, and it will come as no surprise to me if a way is found to establish the existence of life out there.

Certainly there must be many places in the universe, in addition to the ones already confirmed, that are ideal for carbon based life to occur, evolve and flourish.

I sometimes wonder if intelligent life may be found on earth !

life is the greatest value.. for ordinary humans self-preservation is the beginning of all other values.. without life no other values are even possible.. religiously speaking, this is especially true!.

a dead person cannot worship a living god.

when death becomes a valuable purpose it exposes a core insanity.. .

Any seeming defence of the WT's murderous , unscriptural doctrine is like red rag to abull to me, I may have jumped too quick KN, but I still think it is worth saying, to deny your people life saving procedures, as the WT does, is the same as putting a gun to the head of the poor JW who lays dying.
