Sacolton:
I really enjoyed your post.
... birthdays too!.
well, not yet, but if the governing body decides that it's okay to celebrate christmas and birthdays .... how do you suppose the typical jw would feel ... especially those who lived their whole life being told to not celebrate and.
wishing they could?.

is that then proof enough that there is life after death?.
does that mean we do actually have a soul?.
could you touch them for real?.
I'm not sure...
but after my brother died, I was crying all the time, very distressed. About two months later I had a dream that he came to me and hugged me told me to stop crying and to be strong, he also told me that the people around me thought that I was weak.
the day after he died I kept getting warm breezes coming from different directions, whenever I would look at the tree outside my house a breeze would blow through it...I felt like it was some type of comfort given to me..
I was raised not to believe in an afterlife but this experience made me doubt that.
i come here and read some of the posts.
i laugh so hard sometimes, well most times i cry cause i'm laughing so hard.
not in a mocking way.
I never thought i would get married, have kids etc....
bit of a weird title i know, but it's the best i could come up with.. acts of randomness - a speaker refusing to give a talk, a party-pooper elder going to a party, a long time servant of jah criticising the cong during wt comments.. people you thought you knew doing some completely weird or out of character.. an act of randomness could appear at the end of a talk on "widening out" when a certain someone who doesn't like you decides to say hello..
an elder showed up at the park drunk. (everyone just pretended it never happened)
a bunch of teenagers a got into a huge fist fight at the assembly. that was hilarious.....
i got this in an e-mail from a childhood friend that is still an active jw.
i found it to be very upsetting and was wondering if anyone else gets the kind of e-mail forwards from friends/family that are still in?
and how you handle it.
oh my god! i can't believe this poem is still going around. I heard this poem quite a few years ago. Some sister brought it to the kh and everybody thought it was sooooo wonderful. actually if my memory is correct I believe I heard this mess in a public talk. It's very offensive...I could not finish reading it.

It just makes me feel better to be able to laugh and know that there are so many people out there just like me. For me it feels good to be able to laugh at things that only a few years ago was so very serious. I used to be a big ball of stress now I feel alot better. laughing is really good for the soul.
we all know the wts has its own set of words and expressions that make them unique and sets them a part from other organizations.
lets see how many we can come up with.
i'll start.
"The brothers"
My husband(not a jw) hates that term with a passion
He's says: " who 'n' the hell is the brothers? what the hell does that mean!? who are they!?"
whenever he has too much to drink he says that, it soooo funny. cause my response is: " I don't know baby, why are you worried about it?"
when i was a teenager, i was told by an elder that because i smiled a lot and was known for my good sense of humor, that i should come across as "more serious".
so before i was appointed a ms, while in my late teens, i transformed myself into a much more "serious" brother.. were you ever told that you needed to work on something that you knew was stoopid?.
I had a sports car and the CO told me that it wasnt appropiate because I couldnt fit the "friends" in it for field service. I was like "uh duh thats the point"
i know, a far cry from the sexiest actor/actress thread, but hell; let's be a kid for a weekend for a bit!
it brings back fun, good memories !
so, when you were a kid, did you lean toward disney or warner brothers ?
Tom and Jerry!

chewing gum in the KH. Now I was 25 years old at the time. An elder stops me while I'm in the middle of a conversation with another sister and demanded that i spit it out.
