Just because you can find it in your size....
by Wordly Andre inyesterday, i was in court and was sitting in the front row going through my paperwork waiting to see if the defendant will show, i look across the walk way and there is a very large latina girl sitting directly across from me.
she was wearing a short little black dress that had a slit all the way up to ass cheek, her boobs were nearly popping out, her little black dress shoes looked as if she was baking bread in them.
now don't get me wrong i have nothing against full figured girls, however there are limits, i mean did she not know that when she sat down her dress went up over her ass?

I was at the gym. I decided to get in the hot tub. No one was there (i didnt know any better) I put on my swim suit and got in. it was kinda nice...so i relaxed. Then two women came in the room they were about 80 yrs old. (I bullshit you not!) they were butt naked and they got in with me! I wanted to die...I didnt want to just hop out cause i didnt want to hurt their feelings...i waited in pain for about 15 minutes...then got out.
my point: i rather look at something gross than have it naked in bubbly water with me. I love elderly people...i really do but with clothes on.

The one thing that disturbs me the most about JWs. Why can't they see it?
by MinisterAmos inever since day one of our jw experience, we have all been prayed to by the bro on-stage at least twice per meeting.
have any of you ever really listened to what they are asking from god?
at the start of my association the prayers were pretty generic, but now *every* one asks that god only provide for other witnesses.

yeah they ask for jah to protect his "people" (JW"S) they pray for the brothers and sisters worldwide (JW"S only)...oh then every now and then they will mention the scripture "God makes it rain on the righteous and unright" in other words "i know you let these worthless wordly people have sun and rain but please hurry and destroy them so we can pick fruit"

Are we hyper-sensitised to JW changes? Do we exaggerate their importance?
by yadda yadda 2 insometimes i think we lose all perspective at times on here.
that we are just as prone to over-magnifying any meaning behind relatively minor changes like this in the organisation in the same way jw's are prone to over exaggerate every bit of bad news in the world to mean armageddon is near.. when you sit down in the cold light of day, this change to the bookstudy arrangement for example, is it really that much a big deal?
i strongly doubt it really, despite initial reactions (including my own).

This really is a big deal. We were taught that this is the "truth" the absolute "truth". We were also always told how important the book study was...people have lost jobs because they didnt want to miss the book study. I have not accepted jobs because the work hours clashed with the book study. Now they are saying "oh times are hard so lets change things" someone asked the question in another post "why can't we make those decisions for ourselves?" I'm glad that there are people out there that is dedicated enough to do research and pass the information on. If it wasnt for this place...i would probably be deeply depressed or worse.... I no longer feel like i'm lost, i'm actually happy...i have things to work on but I feel free to work on myself and draw close to God without some fake mediator. Being a JW is burdensome... most JW's won't admit to it but deep down inside i know they wish they were free...not free to sin (like the borg would have you believe) but just free to live and be truly happy.

God weighs in
by nvrgnbk inif you can't perceive my existence you're not really looking.. there are special people that can.
don't be bothered by the fact that these people can't agree on anything about me.. the point is that they believe and that's good enough for me.. how shall i reward them?
i'll be there when they're suffering.. watching.. admiring their faith.. though they disagree about how their faith will ultimately work out, it makes life easier for them somehow.. the poor fools that don't know me are left to suffer all by themselves.. you're all going to die.. wouldn't it be eaiser to face your fate knowing i was watching it all, permitting it all, and occasionally scourging a little too for good measure?

I was "disinvited " to my younger brothers babies shower
by sosad inbecause one of the jw invitees heard i was coming and was now part of babylon the great.
just to clarify - i am part of nothing in the religious sense- my kids and husband are very catholic but i am not.. i was invited and trying to get the address after making considerable efforts to attend due to plain old busy life.. it seems "new light" says i, a fader of over 20 years is not welcome to a gathering where jws are present.
but - not just jws - there would be many other religious denominations present in the form of aunts, grandmothers, parents etc.

I'm sorry this happened to you. but your not alone my sister does this to me on a regular basis...I think she gets a sick satisfaction out of telling me how she's planning a "gaaaatherrring" and of course i'm not invited. One time she tried to invite my husband to a JW "gaaatheering" and told me I could not attend. I had no desire to be around her whacky jw friends but I thought it was a low blow to invite my husband. I think she was trying to cause some division in my home. I think this whole JW thing is causing some serious mental issues with her.

the TRUTH about DISFELLOWSHIPPING and SHUNNING from JESUS view
by Terry inloving and forgiving are a huge component of jesus' message to his disciples.. in answer to the question as to how many times forgiveness should be offered to an offender, jesus gave the reply, "seventy (times) seven.
" (variously interpreted as either 77 times or a multiple of 70 times 7).. an example is given of a man who owed a considerable sum of money whose debt was forgiven.
this man failed to forgive a much smaller debt owed to him.

I know someone who was df'd for smoking. The person was really having a hard time quiting. Mercy? nope.
Terry your raise some excellent points.
I don't think DF helps the person at all. Most people if they come back it's to be with their family and friends. It has nothing to do with repentance.

Remember the term: Heavy petting.
by odie67 ini guess that would include tongue kissing, touching etc....the things two people do when they dig each other.
heavy petting was a huge no no!.
i remember sitting in front of three elders as a teenager spilling my guts about how i kissed this boy.

I remember sitting in front of three elders as a teenager spilling my guts about how I kissed this boy. I had like 4 or 5 meetings with these men telling them how, when and where we kissed. answering questions like "did he touch your breast?" and on and on. I was very depressed after that. I had to reveal all this private stuff about myself that really I should have only discussed with my parents. It's really sad....I know plenty of other young girls and older women too who have been humiliated in this way.

agendas of paradise
by winnower inwhat has been taught as armageddon is actually the great tribulation.
the agenda for a "man-made" paradise will come about during this time.
of course, the jws will, as always, be told that it is being "divinely directed" and believe that without question.
