St Satan,
of course he aint totally dumb is he. The reason he wont come out and openly give full backing to sharon is that it will get the muslim world off side. One being saudi arabia. A nation he needs to get at Sadam.
Not all aid is financial, Sharon should have had Bush's FULL backing in his attack on the terrorist structure put in place and/or allowed to thrive under Arafat. Why aren't you crying about Arafat using the millions in aid money he's recieving to fund terrorism? It's called diplomacy. He's walking a tight line. You just cant say what you want and call a spade a spade in politics.
Part of the problem the World faces today with Terrorism comes because no one has been willing to take a Hardline against them. Axis of Evil? THEY ARE EVIL! Call a spade a spade for Chrissake.
This was a dumb thing for Bush to say. But I think Rice and Powell worked over time to mend the potenial damage? I think it was statement design more for internal consumption within the US, but hey, the world is listening. The statement about Iraq can be understood. But Nth Korea was a bit of a red herring at the time. Saying stuff like to to a nation with nukes is pretty silly and only serves to increase tensions and put relations back. Iran was too. There is a lot of turmoil over there, from what I understand, between more liberal elements and the more conservative religious nutbags. Bushs statement really could have done some damage there. I know the whole of Ausralia pretty much gasped and said "what the fuck is this dick doin'" when he came up with that Axis of evil BS. What a hoot! oh well! -

Revelation describes a beast that appears dead but revives. It also describes an obscenely rich entity (Babylon the Great) that dominates the world. The USA is Babylon the Great - that enriches all those who have ships engaged in commerce. The revived wild beast eventually destroys Babylon the Great.
This IS going to happen!!!
did i hear someone call someone else delusional.

Flood Legends "Proof" of Global Flood...
by AlanF inthe march 1, 2002 watchtower contains a couple of articles on noah's flood and the application of this legend to "our day".
thrust of the articles is first to show that the flood was a real, earthwide event, and then to scare ignorant readers into accepting the jw message by claiming that our world is about to undergo a similar divine punishment.
pretty standard fare for long time jw observers.. in the past the watchtower society has published extensive material purporting to show that a global flood occurred a few thousand years ago.

As COJ's comments which I posted pointed out, Mesopotamia has often been described as a "trough" by geologists because it is "enclosed" by areas of higher elevation on its north, east and west sides. If part of central Mesopotamia suddenly lost elevation due to a meteor impact, which some scientists have recently said may have caused Noah's flood, and tidal waves from the Persian Gulf brought on by that same meteor impact or another one accompanying it drowned the land of Noah, as some now understand the epic of Gilgamesh to say, then that three sided "trough" may have temporarily turned into a four sided trough, that is until the land of Noah recovered its previous elevation, and while doing so drained its flood waters back into the Persian Gulf from which they mainly came. Remember, the Bible does not say that it was just the 40 days of rain that were responsible for the flood. It tells us that it was also and probably primarily caused by "waters of the great deep" which "burst forth." (Gen. 7:11) I say, "probably primarily caused" because that is the first cause of the flood that is listed in Genesis.
you sure forgot that good butt whippin' that AF gave you down in the space.com thread of yours.this stuff just ridiculous AC. Belongs in the land of the fairies

Does Knowledge of Evil Condemn Us?
by JosephAlward inordinarily i would post this topic in the "bible research" forum, but i found the following on the "friends" forum, in the "tree of what" thread, so i will leave it here.. achristian explains,.
[when] free people have a knowledge of evil they always, at least briefly, consider doing evil.
and, even having evil thoughts for a brief fleeting moment makes people less righteous than god.

Gweedo,
You wrote: He should give me real evidence of his existence...why not?It has been said that God has chosen to provide us with enough evidence of His existence to convince all those who are willing to believe in Him and willing to serve Him, but that He has deliberately not provided so much evidence of His existence that even those who are not willing to believe in Him and willing to serve Him would be compelled to do so. Why is this? Because, it is said, that God desires only the willing service of those whose hearts are open to Him, not the begrudging service of those who would rather live their lives away from Him.
So I guess my heart aint right. Heard that one before.
You wrote: At the moment the only decision I can make, based on the evidence, is that God doesn't exist.
...before God fries me at Judgment day? Gnashing and wailing AHHHHH!!!!! Such a God I do not wish to serve. A god that punishs me for doubt...cant accept that.I hope you find the additional evidence you need to soon be able to put your faith in God. Unfortunately, you may now have just about all the evidence of God's existence that you are ever going to have.
Enjoy going to church on Sunday Mike...I think I'll stick to playing Golf

Gweedo said >>>>>>>> Maybe God could have just programmed these lessons he wants us to learn into our DNA or hard wire it to our brain ... like in the Matrix.
You really didn't like that dummy thing, did you...
Sorry, Gweedo, I didn't see "The Matrix." A dummy like me was probably reading a book at the time. One without pictures.Oh the persecution.
Ok, I apologise for calling you that...
Man, you guys are something else. Let's see. You say if God had done it your way - the right way - the "Matrix" way - he would not have had to expose you to any evil for you to learn any lessons from it.
He could have given us some kind of instinctive knowledge. Hardwired his lessons into our DNA or brain from an early age...why not? That would not make us "unfree"And then if you were never exposed to any evil you would never be able to be corrupted by it.
whatever...Im simply saying he could have possibly taught us his lessons without having to physically torture many people...as in this world
Because if there was nothing to corrupt you, or as Joe would have it if you were incorruptible to begin with, you would automatically be worthy of eternal life.Which you say God should have given you to begin with anyway.
whateverAnd you say God should appear right in front of you so there will be no doubt about his existence.
wouldn't that be a good idea? Why couldn't he do that. Its not too much trouble is it?You guys have got it all figured out how God should have done it. He should have made nothing that might corrupt you, or made you incorruptible, so you wouldn't have to go to any trouble taking a stand against evil and for what is right. He should have put any thing he wanted you to learn or know already in your head to begin with, so you wouldn't have to go to any trouble learning anything.
I said...again...he could programme his lessons into our mind or DNA. Seems like a better way of doing something than allowing torture. The matrix is a good analogy. A loving God, if he can avoid torture, should do so shouldn't he?And he should appear right in front of you, so you wouldn't have to go to all the trouble of deciding for yourself whether God exists and whether you should serve him.
He should give me real evidence of his existence...why not. At the moment the only decision I can make, based on the evidence, is that God doesn't exist. A god that so badly wants to be worshipped and yet hides his existence so well is a rather strange God.Once he had shown to me that he exists. I'd still decide whether I served him or not...I'd still make my own decision on the matter.
Then you say he should just give you eternal life, not because you have done anything that might in some small way make you worthy of it.
NOI'm saying God, A loving God, shouldn't allow torture like he does
Like maybe freely loving what is good and hating what is bad. No, that might require that you go to all the trouble of actually thinking, all by yourself. Because even that it seems would be too much trouble for you.
I think your blabbering now...See above. My point was pretty simpleHow dare God require anything at all from you, just because he is going to give you eternal life. Of all the nerve!
talk about requirements....I require from a Loving God that he act as a loving God should. Is that an unfair request? NO! If there is a better way of teaching a lesson than allowing people to suffer untold pain and suffering...then a loving God should teach his lesson that way.
anyway
The concept of a Loving God and the pain and suffering in this world have not been reconciled. I think a more than fair conclusion to make is that God doesn't exist.

He asked: Why, then--if this god really exists--did he not just embed into the DNA of man whatever "lessons" you think he wanted man to learn, so he would know these things naturally?
, "Because God wanted us to be able to freely choose how we would live our lives and freely choose who we would love. Real love cannot be forced or programmed."
I dont know about that oneIt wouldn't make us unfree. We would still be free to choose to follow God or not. We would just have knowledge of these lessons God wanted us to know
I think in the future science will allow us to put thoughts and understanding directly into our brain. Like in the film the Matrix. Maybe God could have just programmed these lessons he wants us to learn into our DNA or hard wire it to our brain so we have an instinctive knowledge of them... a mental understanding of them from birth. We would still be free to choose to abide by them or not. We would just have greater knowledge.
