Sleepy, please go get involved in your own country & make yourself useful, instead of sitting here throwing veiled barbs at America or whatever your latest beef is.
Where is the xjw support guys? Where is the LOVE? There are plenty of Yahoogroups & other boards to pretend to know something & to hash out & REHASH politics. Please, go somewhere else to criticize people, whatever way you choose to disguise it.

The point is I am an outsider looking in , flag saluting and pledges of alligence just sound vey troubling to me. Do you not find it possible that people from nations were this does not happen may find it overly nationalistic?
I find it more puzzling that you even care Sleepy. How come? What is so fascinating? Why would YOU be troubled by something that seems to have nothing to do with you? Just because other nations may not have a flag salute, why would they even CARE if America does, or does not? Is all the news over there all about America? Or are you basing this on a 30 second sound bite?

You are correct Xena. There are a lot of "right fighters" on this forum. They either know nothing, but pretend that they do, or they have an agenda. Either way, they fire off posts & wind everyone up, because they just want to be "right". I said this early on, this original "question" was designed to attack or belittle the USA. This person didn't want any answers, he just wanted to prove something.
Someone else on here defended it, so I tried to give the original intent the benefit of the doubt. But this person clealry had an agenda from the beginning.
I can't for the life of me figure out why the US is so fascinating to Europeans. Don't they have their own politics & lives? Can't they critique their own cities? Is there nothing happening in the lives of these people?
Every nation has pride & nationalism. Plainly & simply. Is there nothing of substance to report on the news in these countries? Are they so bored they continuously have to obsess on America?
This unproductive garbage is fouling up the air at jw.com.

I going to picket my parents convention this weekend!
by Atilla inok, my parents have pissed me off so much with their denial and their refusal to even acknowledge my complaints against the borg.
they pretend everything is perfect at the kingdom hall and expect me to play nice to their dub friends so as to protect their own reputation.
this weekend in philadelphia, they are going to to their little convention and i have some evil thoughts.

Here, we have the Amish, which drive dark gray buggies. then, the "hard Mennonites", who drive black buggies. Also, the "black bumper Mennonites", who drive black cars, but paint all the chrome black. The just Mennonites, who usually drive dark blue or black cars or minivans. There are many different sects, different degrees of "plain". The Amish shun for sure, I don't know of the Mennonites do, but I don't think so. Then there are the people my husband & I refer to as "Mennonites once removed", meaning that they were obviously from a Mennonite family, but now attend some other church & are very religious. You can just look at them & tell. They do not wear the bonnets or hair net covering thing or the Mennonite clothes, but you can tell by looking at them.
I've just put something interesting into a search "Amish birth defects", a whole other ball of wax. Our phone book is loaded wtih Stoltzfus, Martin, Weaver & a bunch of other names like that. All stemming from Amish or Mennonite families, many inter marrying. My aunt was married to a guy from the heart of it all, i don't know, but probably a Mennonite background, judging from the name, & one of her kids was born with a cleft palate. Tons of cleft palates here.
On the whole, I like having them here because I love going from house to house buying beggies cheaper than it would be worth growing them for, & on Fridays some houses bake bread. I also buy from a Mennonite tree nursery, very good stock, tons of nice kids to help me move stuff into my car, etc. & good prices. We also made a deal with Mennonites that milled lumber for our house. Once again, it was the nonsense that they have a phone & message machine in the barn, but they will not answer the phone! They will return the call though. Later. And they come here to cut down trees & remove them to make us anything we want milled, but they hitch a ride with a friend of my mother in law (I suspect a Mennonite once removed). They, along with the "fancy Dutch" (Germans) settled this place, & they speak some variation of Swiss & High German. So here, you have all these variations of Mennonites & regular Amish, then just plain Pennsylvania Dutch.
I work among them a lot at different places, so I have learned how to enjoy them & ignore their frequent references to God, etc. Lots of women with the little white netting hair cover. Something about those kids on that show just seemed awfully sophisticated for Amish people. I can't quite put my finger on it.

You know what? Most every time I come here, I get bummed out about how mean & insulting people can be, & I remember H20, which was full of great minds, support, & information. Then I stay away for quite a while.
Too many time wasters, bordering on vulgar. Too many sitting here 24/7 instead of at least attempting to get into the real world & cultivate education, hobbies, friends, whatever it means to actually LIVE in a healthy body! "My penis can talk, can yours?" "I've got the biggest nipples in the world!". I think sometimes people forget that there are literally thousands of people reading this s**t. Everyone is entering thousands of homes, they are literally in some person's living room with it.
I am trying to help my sister out, mainly her husband, who was raised & actually believes it. But I can't send them HERE! Too much of it fulfills the prophecies of the borg. So I get disgusted & split, then return & hope I see something good, then I scratch my head & split again.
