  notice how many times they use the word "slanderous" without mentioning specifics...

  Persons studying the Islamic religions and the Jehovah?s Witnesses religion will certainly find some similarities. For example, members of both religions are expected to die for "scriptural" interpretations decided upon by their leaders.

  Whether you die by blowing yourself up in a crowded shopping area or by refusing a blood transfusion ? you are just as dead (the difference being of course that the Witness does not take others with him). But the reality is that both of them were willing to give up their own lives for rules and regulations put together by other misguided and fallible humans, and try to get others to do so as well.

  Where are JW's most vulnerable?

  what's the more effective method to try to open the dormant organ most jw's have as a brain?

  is it tackling them on biblical issues and inconsistencies, for instance the "great crowd" dilemma from revelation, or the isaiah "new world" problem recently posted by leolaia?

  is it the blood issue, either based on a scriptural attack or else a humanistic "value-of-life" approach?

  I don?t know if I am the only one but I find it very disturbing when active JW?s come to this board and say that they know every bit of dirt about the org and yet still believe that the GB are Gods representatives on earth. They claim to know all about the paedophile problems in the congregations, the U.N. fiasco, the 607 BCE con, Malawi and Mexico, all the flip flops on doctrine and the questionable financial dealings (property, shares etc) and yet they still believe in the Org and the GB 110 %.

  One of these JW?s who was going into hospital for surgery recently told me that they would not be having a blood transfusion even if it cost them their lives. I asked if the would change their mind and accept one if the GB said they had got "new light" and it was now O.K.

  They replied that "yes" they would accept it and then there was a long silence whilst they digested what they had just said. Further remarks from me were totally unnecessary.

  I said above that I am disturbed and I used that word because history shows that people with that level of commitment to a cult ( Branch Davidians etc) are easily talked into doing major damage to themselves or others. It sheds some light on the minds of the Moslem Fundamentalists and helps us to understand them though, doesn?t it?

  Intelligence

  is it (among many possibilities):.

  1) the mere accumulation of knowledge...factual information?.

  The Supremes Abolish 4th Amendment

  just a couple of days ago, the us supreme court ruled in a case that has demolished the 4th amendment which states:.

  amendment iv: the right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.

  previously, you were secure in your person, including your cloths, car, house, etc.

  As a former police officer I would suggest that the officer(s) in this case knew exactly who they were stopping and exactly what they would find when they did.

  Whenever we were acting on information provided to us, especially in drugs cases, we would call it "reasonable suspicion". To do otherwise would almost certainly cost the informant their lives.

  I agree it's a pity that the politicians got involved but this must tell you something about the complainants in this case. Where there's drugs there's money power and politics.

  CAN WE TRUST DOCTORS?

  most of our local doctors, whom we go to with sore throats, aching backs, etc., are friendly chaps and ladies but even these are indoctrinated, in the main, into accepting that hospital doctors/researchers know best.

  since i became seriously ill i've done a collosal amount of research and i am afraid i'm left with, at the very least, immense suspicion of the recommendations of the majority of medical doctors.

  recently, we have been notified by our gp's surgery that our younger son requires immunisation.

  A better question would be "Can we trust all doctors?" The answer to that is a provable no.

  A friend of mine with prostate cancer was told that a certain operation had a very low success rate. He did some research on the net and found this was only true because some surgeons had a high failure rate. Other surgeons had a very high success rate. This speaks for itself.

  We are fortunate that, just like investigating the WTS, the net allows us to check league tables of the success or otherwise of surgical procedures, surgeons and hospitals. IMO anyone with a serious health problem would be wise to do the research and not just accept doctors as the FDS.

  Can someone explain why the Society needs 1600 people in that area? What will they all do? I thought that much of their production etc was moving out of the area?

  I still think it would be a good thing if someone could approach the government of Bulgaria and ask them straight out if they have seen the signed document stating that no sanctions will be taken against a Jehovahs Witness who chooses to have a blood transfusion.

  This idea is not as crazy as it seems and I would be willing to do it myself if I knew how to go about the translating and finding the person to direct the letter to. I can't understand why ajwrb hasn't already done this and closed the matter with a single piece of conclusive evidence.

  It would seem a total waste of time even trying if nobody is interested in the subject.

  Could WBTS be forced to pay tax in America?
