by Evidently Apostate ini remember something that happened to me a few years ago that reminded me of the programmed witnessing of a jw.
i was out with a friend (a jw) going for a drive and he brings us to a home to meet a guy that was an amway salesman and my friend had been encouraging me to get involved with amway.
" there was no way i was going to sell toothpaste" i told him.

buying time--you've nothing to lose.
by bigmac into all members who still associate with the jw's, please consider this:.
if you're "in" because you fear you might lose spouse/family /friends--why not put it to the test.. just leave.. no need to resign: just stop all association--dont accept any literature/offers of help/shepherding/whatever.. what is likely to happen---will your spouse start divorce proceedings?--on what grounds?.
will your family /friends turn their back on you?--maybe.

I remember JW talks at assemblies always advising us not to get involved with pyramid schemes. I guess they wanted all of our time for themselves! (JWs being the original "pyramid" scheme LOL.)

Since reaching middle aged adulthood, you ever have moments of uncertainty that frightened you?

i awoke a couple minutes before my alarm clock went off, as i always do.

The Annointed - how do they know?
by Listener into me this is a serious matter as the annointed are the basis of how the organization is set up and operates.
yet i have great difficulty in understanding how these people know that they are annointed.
does the bible actually say that they will know?

"You can't just tell someone their faith is wrong without offering a replacement!"
by sabastious ini have heard this from several witnesses.. the assert that it is insensitive to expose someone's faith as invalid without offering another more valid spiritual path.. "the jehovah's witnesses don't have the truth, because xyz.".
^ i have been accused of offering a disservice because i can't offer the answers to the questions that i am debunking as fradulent.. has anyone else ran into this obscure argument?.
