A prayer I'd like to hear
by JimmyPage in"jehovah we come before you at this time to thank you for the guidance you give us through the governing body.
we thank you that in 1919 when jesus came to inspect his belongings that he appointed these men of truth to help us in spite of the fact that they still celebrated christmas and venerated the cross.
we thank you that brother rutherford was there to enlighten us and that even though the faithful men of old did not appear on earth in 1925 to his house in san diego we know that he was not a crackpot but an anxious seeker of truth.

We thank you for the new light you have given us to help us understand that fractions of blood are now okay to consume if your conscience allows it. We thank you for the peace of mind in knowing that mankind will not destroy himself in a nuclear holocaust because you will destroy 99.9% of mankind yourself instead. May we always attend all meetings and strive for at least ten hours of service each month so that we may be preserved alive through this. All of this we pray in the name of your Son Jesus Christ, amen."
Anyone have anything they'd like to add? :)

Seeing my dad constantly at his desk working on a meeting part was motive enough for me to not want to do more. I wish he would have spent more time teaching me the practical things he knew like working on cars or passing on construction skills. Instead all his time went to the borg.

I'm a huge Shaq fan therefore I am cheering the Suns now. I like Steve Nash too. The West has gotten really interesting with all their trades lately. But the Celtics and Pistons also look tough!

educated elder or uneducated elder which was the best ?
by looloo inthe ones i know are either life long window cleaners with little education behind them or ex army /police /teacher types that are used to public talking and a bit of power , which ones did you find were the best elders ie kind and caring , i would go for the uneducated window cleaner /manual worker type by my experiance , in fact it was because the intelligent ones believed it was "the truth" that made me think well it must be true if he believes it

I was just thinking of the school overseer who told everyone the same thing after they gave a talk: "You done real good on that." Please, teach us more about how to be better speakers, Brother Gramatically Challenged!

Since you missed the CO I will help fill you in by telling you about the last visit I saw. If you were the PO he was friendly. To everyone else he was pompous and arrogant. He gave a talk about the destruction of Jerusalem and the many horrific details that befell those who didn't separate themselves. How their bellies were cut open to remove the money they hid by swallowing it. You know, really encouraging and upbuilding stuff. I thought that since there were a lot of pioneers he would be really happy with the congregation. But instead he said there was a group growing faster than the pioneers- those who just didn't seem to give a flying rat's patoot. On Sunday he told us it was wrong to recommend a movie to someone else. Then he started giving an illustration based on the film version of "West Side Story". He mentioned how that when he leaves a circuit people start crying but blame this on their allergies acting up. Fortunately I had taken my Claritin and this did not befall me. Then he closed by saying "Beware the false prophet!" I have really tried to take this to heart lately the more I learn about Watchtower history. Hope this helps make up for the visit you missed!
