In the small town where I grew up the numbers are ridiculously low. In the larger city I live in now I've never seen so many JWs die. The congregations are made up of very old people and the young ones who are there are born-ins who often leave the first chance they get.

What would a Father's Day commercial look like if it was made by JW's?
by JimmyPage ina father's day commercial for bass pro came on and it got me thinking.
it said, "remember when your dad took you camping and taught you how to fish?".
so i started thinking about my childhood and what the commercial would be like for people like myself.. it would go something like this:.

OMG exwhyzee that's horrible! I'm so sorry.
Your post reminds me of a woman in the congregation I grew up in who claimed her non-JW husband was a horrible man who beat her and opposed the Witnesses. When I grew up I found out he was actually a great guy and that she was a loon.

So I started thinking about my childhood and what the commercial would be like for people like myself.
It would go something like this:
"Remember when your dad made you wear a suit and tie four times a week?" (Tuesday and Thursday nights, Saturday and Sunday mornings).
"Remember when your dad told you that the world would end before you graduated high school?" (And now you've been out over 20 years).
"Remember when your dad threatened to tear down the house you lived in if you didn't start going to meetings again?" (Because at the time I was living in my grandpa's house after he died and it was on my father's property.)
So, how about you?
How would a Father's Day commercial look from your perspective?

Reverse Shunning
by mrhhome inok. now i find myself in an odd situation.
my wife's family, who has let the witnesses walk all over her for 30 years, is trying to play nice.
(mother-in-law is a witness.

I totally relate to your situation. Every time I spend time with a JW, even when I like them as a person, it just becomes exhausting to be around all their JW bullcrap, which they invariably bring up because their life revolves around it.

A MESSAGE to the Governing Body and others like them through human history
by Terry inthere is something all too familiar about it, something that sickens the stomach and reminds us how low and prejudiced evil minds can go.. those who divide humans up in order to weaken and conquer them will stop at nothing if not counterfeit reasoning to justify their evil.. .
the arguments made in the past and the arguments made in the present have a familiar ring to them and the false clanger is a note of warning!.
"if you give women the right to vote, you're just doubling the vote of their husband.".

I'm with Terry 100 percent on this. Well said! And fuck that other noise about tender hearts.

How do you get through the memorial?
by Gorbatchov infor family reasons, gorby and his wife and children has to visit the hall at april 14. our family accept that we are faders, but don't accept if we do not visit the memorial.. so, it seems a small investment: one evening love bombing for a year peace and rest.. but i hate the visit.
headache.
meeting the people knowing it's all fake love showing.. how do you get through it?.

It's one of the shorter meetings. It actually throws a bone to Jesus. And remember, a lot of the JWs are nice people who may actually be glad to see you. They are conditioned to act inhumanely by their cult leaders. Not saying you should go, though (vote with your feet). But if you feel you must, hopefully these points help make it a little easier.

New Prince album quite interesting for JWs
by JimmyPage inyou've probably already heard that prince is calling his new album "follow the slave".
but a closer look at the track list raises even more eyebrows.
check out these song titles: "100 invisible years".

Check out these song titles: "100 Invisible Years". "Rock the Nations". "Called out of Babylon". "Funk of a New Millenium". It appears the man has gone all in for the Witnesses, with contributions from Larry Graham and George Benson. One can only sit back and facepalm at the whole mess.

2014: do you see Witnesses ramping up activity? What will the aftermath be in 2015?
by JimmyPage injw's often say they don't serve with any dates in mind.
but the fact is many of them can't fathom why the end just hasn't come yet.
since 2014 marks 100 years of invisible rule many witnesses can't help but think this has some special meaning.

JW's often say they don't serve with any dates in mind. But the fact is many of them can't fathom why the end just hasn't come yet. Since 2014 marks 100 years of invisible rule many Witnesses can't help but think this has some special meaning. I've seen some previously lethargic JW's start to ramp up their activity this year to help save their own asses before Jehovah starts the genocide. One wonders what fallout there will be next year when life goes on as it always has and no Paradise is restored.
Have you seen JW's ramping up activity in your area? Do you think we'll see a larger exodus from the cult next year?
