I'm on three different anti-depressants. They help to take the "edge" off of my blues. It's a hereditary thing that's been in our family for a long time. But I definately notice that this time of year it gets somewhat worse...S.A.D. probably. Arghhhhhhhhhh...nothing you can just "snap out of" either. (Of course back when I was in the org...the elder's would always tell me that getting to more meetings and out in service would help my depression. Jeeeeeeeeeeshhhhhh...that's what was causing it! What to do, what to do.

Who else is having a hard time with depression right now?
by czarofmischief ini'm a loonie, but it seems that i've been dealing with some pretty severe waves of depression lately.
her majesty the czarina went on prozac last month and it was working wonderfully, until suddenly last week she suddenly had a bad day, and then another, and then another... it's been a week now and we're both in the blahs.
and my one co-worker had an anxiety attack and is kind of blah now, too.. anyway, that makes three people i know of who are having a bad time.

I live in central WI. They are here. They are there. They are everywhere. I'm sitting on the deck and they're dive bombing me. They stink if you crush them. I got out my trusty dirt devil and have been busy sucking up those dirty little buggers for the past two days...along with wasps (how do they get in? I'd love to know!) and other nasty little critters. Ahhhhh...the joys of bugs. I hope they're all enjoying their little convention in my vacuum cleaner dirt bag.

Started getting gray, no; actually it is more white than gray...in my late 20's. When I thought it started making me look old I started coloring it which was a pain in the a** because I wear my hair so short. But a couple of years ago I decided to just let it be gray...still have half dark brown mixed in and I wear it short and spiky. People tell me it looks cool (for an old lady)...so am gonna keep it this way. Ala naturel!!! I'll be 50 next year and when you hit 50 you can stop worrying what other people think. Well...actually...I stopped worrying about what other people think when I left the Watchtower!! GRAY POWER!!

Governing Body Compromise Over Matters Of Personal Conscience
by hillary_step ini have it on very good authority that the governing body, under pressure from wts legal i might add, have agreed that matters pertaining to grooming and dress will not be dictated by wts corporate policy any longer but will be left to a persons conscience to decide.
at the annual general meeting, shortly to be held, the governing body will themselves set an organizational lead by appearing in in the grooming of their choice.
i was particularly impressed with theo jaracz new look ( fourth right, first row ).

I sent this letter to The Governing Body, but they never answered. Why?
by Benny Sikter inthe governing body of jehovahs witnesses.

first of all i would like to say how much i appreciate your christian activity by continuing declaring the good news of the heavenly kingdom as foretold in matthew 24:14. i can say many other things to assure you of my sincere appreciation to your god-given work.

My husband and I have both written many letters to New York...governing body, service department, etc. etc. etc. Sometimes we get a reply (usually a nice little form letter that doesn't really address any of your concerns)...sometimes we don't. Mostly we don't.
I personally believe that not only do they not WANT to reply to these letters because they are cowards; they have a little difficulty (no, make that ALOT of difficulty) with facing the truth about the "truth". And they're probably swamped with so much mail from all of us dissatisfied customers that they just don't have the resources or ability to reply.
We gave up hanging around the mailbox for replies. What a waste of time. BUT...that was a pretty good letter and they SHOULD reply to it. They do such a wonderful job of caring for the sheep don't they? Cathy L.

Do you still love your relatives/friends who shun you?
by HadEnuf inas i was participating in my daily duties of domestic slavery i got to ruminating about my mom, sister and brother who are shunning me (even though i am neither df'd of da'd).
i got to thinking to myself that i don't really miss them all that much.
in fact; i almost feel that i have lost the abundance of love that i once felt for them...well, except for my brother who i have never gotten along with anyway.

Thank you all for your replies...quite an array of different perspectives on this subject that I hadn't considered. I just wish it didn't fill me with so much turmoil all this time. I feel alot like proudassmonkey (wow...not THAT'S a nickname for ya!!); I miss my sister and mom in the sense that I miss the bond that we shared as blood relatives. Blondie...of course you offer your words of wisdom, short & sweet; I wish I could get to the same "state" that you can feel towards your relatives. (Did you have a good trip? We were thinking of you with envy and jealousy!)
I often think of what I would do if they decided to contact me again. Would I be able to start up these relationships again with what they have done to me personally? Some of you have mentioned that your family was dysfunctional in the first place...and when I consider this I can see that perhaps our family too was dysfunctional. I am sure that does not make them anymore endearing to me; especially along with the shunning. Oh how I do ramble.
thanks all for your input...glad I have my friends here at least! Cathy L.

My sister was my very best friend and my mom was also dear to my heart.
So just wondering if anyone else here still longs for the close, loving relationship they used to have with close relatives/friends; or have you lost that love in sort of a "self-protective act"? Arghhhhhhhhhhhh...ramble, ramble, ramble.
