my jw buddy just called me with some "fun" news.
they had the co last week, and of course dave and i were part of the elder's meeting agenda.
my friend has just had a conversation with one of the elders, who told her about it because it involved her.
My oh my...me thinks these women must be related to some of the "sisters" in our FORMER cong. I believe they really crossed the line with this one...not just gossip...more like slander...a cause for disfellowshipping. As for the CO...he must be new to the job...hasn't been "assimilated" yet; still green. Give him a few more months and he'll sink to the same level as most CO's.
What a great story. It's such a rarity that "spy sisters" are called onto the carpet for their undercover activities!
well i have been feeling a bit like crap lately.
work has been very stressful and my attempts to make new friends outside of the jw's have been mostly futile.
the people i work with are immature and are more interested in the latest office gossip and whose doing what than anything else.
Ahhhhhhhhhhhh (((((((Flower)))))))....I feel bad along with you! I don't really have any friends outside of my husband and kids...and I get lonesome too for friendship outside of my family...but when I get down I just get on this site and see all the familar names and feel better because I know that I do have friends...even though I have never met them in person.
I truly hope that somewhere, someplace you will find friends who are true and special and love you. You have many of those friends here I know. Cathy L.

I have probably only impressed myself
sorry if this is a sad question, but i know of 3 jw's that have suicided.
i haven't known any personally, but i was wondered if you know any or know of any jw's that have suiced?
and do you know the reason why?
When I was a teenager a "sister" shut herself in her garage with the car running...left behind a hubby and two young daughters. About a year or two ago a young "brother" who had been disfellowshipped...was bi-polar...tried for over a year to get reinstated...also shut himself in his garage and died with the car running. Left behind two "pioneer" parents and two brothers and a sister. When I was newly married and moved to my present location...a "sister" related to a family in our congregation walked into the ocean and drowned herself. I hear many, many reports of suicide among JW's and x-JW's. "Statistics" (as in there are just as many suicides among non-witnesses as among JW's) don't mean crap if someone you loved killed themselves because of the religion they belonged to .
the latest watchtower, dec 15th 2003, is an out and out attack on the rank and file for dropping into a drowsy state spiritually.
ok, so armageddon didn't come before the generation of 1914 grew old and died.
but does that mean that the big a isn't near?
Hmmmmmmmmm....I'll be about 80 years old by then...probably condemned to a low-budget, understaffed nursing home by my family...drooling constantly and wearing the latest design of Depends. My teeth will probably be long gone and the hell with dentures. I'll be living on Ensure and be too blind to keep up with my soaps. I'll keep falling out of bed and won't be able to get up and no one will answer my feeble cries for help. I say BRING ON ARMAGEDDON...I'M READY TO MEET MY MAKER!!! Cathy L.

This article is such a crock. Persecution? Most of the persecution takes place right in the congregations from your own so called "brothers and sisters." The major persecution comes from the elders, the CO's, the DO's and of course the Big Guys themselves...the "Society". My husband often has remarked that he would have been able to take persecution from any source imaginable outside of the organization when we were JW's...but it was the persecution that came from within...that came just from going to meetings and having to deal with CRAZY people (mostly egotistical, power-mongering, self-righteous elders) in the organization; that was what he couldn't take. Me either. We hit the road and ain't looking back.

Good luck on your studies...you were most kind to put in 50 votes...we are still ahead by about 60%...yesterday we got into a voting war with someone who must have had a program to keep voting by 5's...but we pulled together and overcame the enemy and emerged victorious. There were over 25,000 votes...hmmmmm...something was fishy!
