if you could (just like that) change things about yourself, what would you be like?
I would like to be one of those girls on "Rich Girls"...except smarter .
.
we wanted to buy a dvd to watch, i thought the league of extraordinary gentlemen(i think that is the name) looked cool.
no spoilers please!
I would give it a 4 out of a possible 10. I actually was surprised that Sean Connery would be in a movie of this caliber. It's more of a "renter" than a "buyer". I agree with shotgun...The Italian Job is a first rate movie. I would give it a 9. Happy viewing!!! Cathy the Movie Critic
sneaky santa claus in the top left corner of the site on the jwd logo?
heheheheh i love it!.

HO HO HO!!!! (Can I say HO on this site???) Cathy L.
i am chomping at the bit to go to see rotk!!
you won't be giving anything away, because i believe i have read the series upwards of 20 or more times over the years, but how was it?
thoughts?.
Arghhhhhhhhhhh...Gretchen you are toooooo funny!! I did have the urge several times during the movie to shout out "EXTREME MAKEOVER NEEDED!!!" Ye Gads...have you ever seen such utterly loathesome creatures??? (Excluding elders)
I loved it. Hubbie and I stood in line in the freezing cold for 45 minutes (not too long but long enough to freeze your butt) waiting to get in. Everyone was standing on the windy side of the building (duh) and so I suggested to my husband/slave that he redirect the line to the sheltered side of the building. (Who would have thought that being an attendant at all those dreaded district conventions would pay off???) And he did a dang fine job of it and everyone was most thankful. Someone then asked him if he could do anything about the sun shining in everyone's eyes!! But it was worth the wait and now I am sad that there are no more Ring movies to see.
AND...I still stick to my opinion that Peter Jackson should do the Hobbit! SO THERE!!!!
i love r&b, soul, neo-soul, and "classic" disco.
certain groups and performers i've seen and enjoyed were earth, wind & fire, marvin gaye, anita baker, the temptations, luther vandross, janet jackson, and literally hundreds more.
i don't care for country/western, punk rock or heavy metal..........what do you like/don't like?
I am willing to give a listen to just about any type of music...but I do have a certain aversion to rap music and any kind of music where you can't understand the lyrics and it leaves you with a raging headache from hell. But mostly I like slower stuff and opera like Andrea Bocelli, Josh Groban, Enya etc. BUT...I also like Creed, some of Metallica's stuff, Smashing Pumpkins, Aerosmith, Simon & Garfunkle, THE BEATLES, Rolling Stones, Peter Paul & Mary, Secret Garden, Hootie & the Blowfish, Sally Harmon, Lori Line, Joan Baez, Jim Brickman, Barbra Streisand, Frank Sinatra, Bee Gees, Creedence Clearwater Revival, Neil Diamond, George Strait, Patty Loveless, Bette Midler, The Monkees (don't laugh at me now!) and in particular (shameless prejudicial plug for my kid's band) Tree of Woe because my husband and I are roadies for them and get to listen to them live all the time plus have unrestricted access to their great new CD "Withered Oak" (which may be purchased at www.treeofwoeband.com ). Well...a mom's gotta do what a mom's gotta do!
I can't imagine life without music. Cathy L.
P.S. And for any of those artists that I failed to mention in my little speech here I certainly apologize to and hope that you will forgive me.
Thanks calamityjane! Ahhhhhhhhh...such fond memories of our camping trip to Sibley. Our oldest son, now 26, was only 3 or 4 years old at the time (our youngest had not made it into the "picture" yet!)...and we had a 1978 blue chevy stationwagon loaded to the top with camping stuff. It was our son's first camping trip and he was petrified of the outhouses!! What a hoot....I was too. Yuk, yuk, yuk!!!! I just remember the long, long drive into that park. What a fun time. Well...that was over 20 years ago and because of health problems we had to give up the camping (except for Holiday Inn type camping!!). But every once in a while we get up to Duluth and Grand Marais so maybe one of these days you'll be hearing from us!!
What a great picture Okram! That should get some kind of blue ribbon or something!

Hubbie and I are going this weekend. I take it that there is no intermission??? (Well...there was one in God's and Generals...and for that movie we had hoped that the intermission was actually the END of the movie...hahaha!) Too bad...won't be able to get the super sized coke with my popcorn. OR...I could just wear a Depends since it runs so long. I hope that Peter Jackson does the Hobbit. He's talked about it. I hope that this year Lord of the Rings finally gets recognized at the Academy Awards and Jackson SHOULD win Best Director and Best Picture, etc. Though I do have to say there is some competition out there with The Last Samurai, The Missing and some other good ones coming up this month.
Man oh man...I wish it was Saturday ALREADY!!! Cathy L .
I'm from Wisconsin but I've visited Thunder Bay. Does that count?
Great city. We visited there on vacation years ago when our kids were younger. Toured Fort Williams and camped at Sibley? Or is that in Minnesota? Anyway...awesome scenery up that way. Can't you see the Sleeping Giant from Thunder Bay? Hmmmm...can't remember all the details about that trip. Cathy L.
i've already exited the jws in mind and heart, and have read many comments from everyone about the book, so didn't really see the need to buy it for myself.
however, after reading something here on the forum, i decided to order it (and the tao of pooh and siddhartha.
) a super-dub sits two desks away from (she and her husband knew ray and his wife, had tea with them in their room when he was on the gb, etc.
Crisis of Conscience and in In Search of Christian Freedom should be prominently displayed upon the shelves of every genuine, true-blooded "apostate"! (Oh...of course after having actually READ them!)
I've read both of them twice and I give them both a five star rating. I personally don't think Ray Franz makes a whole lot of money from these books...but I wish they had made him a millionaire! Those two books have been the basis for the departure from the "organization" of many who finally learned the truth about the "truth". Cathy L.
P.S. I loved these books so much that I ordered a copy of each and anonymously (because the wife of the PO of a local congregation works at the library...yea...I'm still in that sneaking around stage) donated them to our public library. They are now sitting on the "new" non-fiction shelves.
