District Conventions are awful if you have kids. (Learn why!)
by easyreader1970 ini know that many of you have not been to distric conventions in some time, but what i am about to describe is a recent trend.. 1. more people than seats.
for the past six or seven years, they've tried cramming too many congregations into one convention hall at one time.
in many cases, if you do not get to the convention more than an hour before the program starts and you need more than a couple of seats, you cannot find seats.

Diary of a thinking to return ex-Jw
by reniaa ini thought long and hard about posting this but the mis-information on this site finally persuaded me, i already accept many may not accept what i say on face value and get their appologist pens ready for making sure no pro-witness propaganda slips through the net on this site but here goes....... i've been on this forum for a few months my first post was about how i was thinking of returning to jw's and at my sisters recommendation to look at this site for both sides of the story before taking that step.. i faded from jw's 10/11 years ago now i left my hubby at the time divorced him to going on to have more relationships and kids, i was definately given the impression after asking on this site and with what i read that if i tried to return i might face df or at least a jc but definately a couple of elders questioning me over what i've been upto these last few years - none of these have happened.
i talked with an old jw friend (yes i do have then and she never shunned me quite happily accepted an offer of coffee from me and my asking for a chat) i told her i was interested in going back and was very frank about what i done in the last 10 years but not sure how returning was done now, she quite happily said she go ask for me to find out.. result!
she came back this week and said "all i had to do was goto meetings again" and an offer of a study was there for me if i wanted it to explore the open doubts that i had expressed i now had.. not quite the fire and brimstone welcome this site led me to believe would happen.. i will keep you posted with further updates if i feel the need to put them in future.. .

Lol becky, you've been 'going back for years......' its easier said than done tho.
Im now embracing a life without the org, I mean I had a really good go at the JW life and was not accepted and made to feel it also..... unspoken. I didnt see this great love that marked the JWS and when your an outsider always an outsider, there not gonna embrace me back, they will for a while whilst they can count their ministry time talking to you but after that you go back to being lonely and alone.
Go back to being just a number Becky but Im out and out for good.
PS if the person who asked about Beckys Baby looks into my old posts they will see that I posted a congradulations for her baby Elisabeth

2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014 and then what?
by truthseeker inin just a few weeks, this year will end and a new one begins.
nothing special, just 2006.. but when you analyse the jw doctrine, it is another nail in their already 91 nail studded coffin.
the watchtower has for decades taught that jesus' presence and rulership began in 1914. since changing the generation of 1914 doctrine, a whole decade has passed, with little in the way of anything new.

If a JW girl falls pregnant to a 'worldly person'...before marriage??
by Lantana ini've had many encounters with jw's throughout the years and i've found them to be decent, caring people.
i've attending meetings, read a number of awake!
and watchtower publications and so on and so forth.. the book 'crisis of conscious' by ray franz was really eye-opening for me and served as a strong warning for those about to enter the organisation...its easy to fill in the blanks from there -- i never became a jw.

It's strange how mind conditioning can make people believe in the most ridiculous ideas and policies, in this case refusing blood voluntarily donated to save a life. It's not as if the donor died or was harmed in any way. There is no parallel with the death of an animal and its blood.
One day having a blood transfusion will be conscious based, and they will be a massive bite back from all the witnesses that have lost loved ones......... I can see it coming, it is such a major issue.
No child really should die in these circumstances in this day and age. Everything possible should be done without question to save a childs life. my two cents

Why did Abel offer "fatty pieces" to Yahweh?
by easyreader1970 infrom my understanding--at least from my instruction from the wbts--humans were not permitted to eat meat by yahweh until after the flood.
if that is true, then why would abel offer tasty, delicious "fatty pieces" to yahweh?
how would abel even know how to cut up an animal for food and know which parts were the best for eating?.

wanna know something else, i reckon alot of pregant JWs who need a transfusion secretly wish the court would make them and take it out of thier hands.
I really hate the GB, they are men mostly and their lives are not on the line where pregancy is on the line.
infact we need me to be on the GB and I'll kick ass and change this ridiculas law, also I'll make it complusory for JW husbands to make sure they give flowers and choclates to their wives on a sunday!

I fell pregnant at 18 and was not baptised, I had a JC and was not allowed to do any field ministry for about 8 months, after that I faithfully atttended all meetings and bible study, they allowed me to get baptised when baby was 11months old. I had my cards marked and never had any close friends, i was not invited to anything and was shown no loving kindness. I was ENCOURAGED to marry the father who was not a JW so dont know why that was.
anyway I left when my little one was nearly five, when the two congos that shared the hall, a pioneer sister organised a picnic, and everyone was invited apart from me and my little girl, I was aux pioneer at the time, their reason for not inviting me........ my little girl was not a good assoiciate......... i left the witnesses two months later, still being an aux pioneer when i left.

right now folks, a lot is happening in the political world.. gordon brown (prime miniter of england) last week gave a speech to the un stating that it is time for the un to step in and solve the world's problems, (specifically mentioning the economy and hunger crisis worldwide.).
barrack obama is shaping up to be the next president, a fellow who sure knows how to persuade and lead great crowds.
