I noticed an obituary where the deceased was described as a member of The Lions Club and devoted JW. Never heard of this combination before and actually know very little about Lions.
Is this fully acceptable according borg rules?

what do you get when you put a bunch of computer literate star trek fans together on a forum?
"Who knows what Jehovah has planned for us? He may very well have us explore and populate planets in the solar system".
They must have taken a new stand. Tens of years ago WT did answer a question wheter there is life on other planets. If my memory serves me well they wrote that there might be, but this Tellus is where we stick to.
Or they are just tacking: *** Watchtower 1981 December 1 p.27 The Path of the Righteous Does Keep Getting Brighter ***
"However, it may have seemed to some as though that path has not always gone straight forward. At times explanations given by Jehovah's visible organization have shown adjustments, seemingly to previous points of view. But this has not actually been the case. This might be compared to what is known in navigational circles as "tacking." By maneuvering the sails the sailors can cause a ship to go from right to left, back and forth, but all the time making progress toward their destination in spite of contrary winds."
Funny that Jehovah cannot even provide a fair wind for its followers. They go fast anywhere else but not towards the truth.
in 1902 there was an office in barmen-elberfeld (today a part of wuppertal) distributing watchtowers and russell's books.
so, the german branch celebrates its 100th "birthday" this year.
last weekend there was a so-called "day with open doors" (tag der offenen tur, quite common in germany) when the public was invited and anybody could come and take a look at the facilities and eat and drink.

Soon there will be, owing to the 1914 generation.

I might be wrong assuming that if a JW hits 100 she/he is not supposed to follow this example and open ones door?
Just like charity work i.e. not for file and rank publisher.
application of "two witnesses" in the congregation.
"the assertion has been made that jehovah's witnesses take no action when an allegation of child abuse comes to the attention of the elders unless the accusation is verified by two separate witnesses, and that's just simply not true.".
page 108 and 109 of the pay attention to yourselves and to all the flock (elders manual), contains the following instructions:.

OK, I just asked out of curiosity. As we know they sometimes make subtle changes to different editions.
i know this was posted earlier but i thought i would give my little story.
i just bought a house about 6 months ago and haven't seen a single jw.
i've been visited by the mormons twice, some generic christian church, and a couple of baptists stopped by just today.

As you wrote: "JWs have to the Catholic Church especially for paving the way for them. Without Catholics, to whom would they preach?" it immediately brought to my mind how The Finished Mystery did treat the Catholic Church.
says of russell`he was not the founder of a new religion'.
question;if he wasn't the founder of a new religion, what did he found?
*** Awake! 1951 May 8 ***
"...who is preaching the teaching of Pastor Russell? Certainly not Jehovah's Witnesses! They can not be accused of following him, for they neither quote him as an authority nor publish or distribute his writing."

I would just like to make sure if my copy is obsolete or you just left out a sentence?
You quoted:
“The testimony of youths may be considered, it is up to the elders to determine if if the testimony has the ring of truth to it.”
“If there are two or three witnesses to the same kind of of wrongdoing but each one is a witness to a separate incident, their testimony can be considered.”
My copy places in between:
"The testimony of unbelievers may also considered, but it must be carefully weighed."

I did check old news and found a mention that a woman declared being engaged with this double murderer and former bank robber Steen Christensen: "I have not met him and our discussions are limited to one via telephone"-she says!
My uneducated guess is that this type of behavior requires properties that healthy mind does not provide. Reminds me of this famous series: "How stupid can you get?"

Few years ago a Danish guy murdered two policemen in Helsinki. While here in custody he started getting love-letters from women. Wildest mention I run across was that a WT-litter(ature) study was conducted with him!
It is not axactly the same as subject line but I wonder if that will take place when the brutal criminal is a woman. I guess it will but my feeling is that women are more prone to this type of behavior.
