every now and then i have seen rare mentions of countries where dubs do attend a civilian service as per watchtower 1996 may 1. i have been asked to compile a list of those countries, the reason being that right now finland is revaluating its old jw exemption law.. .

in our version of the qfr there is one passage that is worded somewhat "foggy".

i would like to see the original text and all i am interested is the paragraph that deals with anal and oral sex and has porneia-related subheading.

in finnish version it is the last paragraph on page 29.. i would appreciate a quotation of the original text in english.. mark.

The endless debate and literal seven years

it took me good three evenings to wade through this 60 page debate and now one thing is left bothering me.

i did not notice any mention about the possibility neb having literal 7 years sick leave.

i am not saying that it did not get mentioned, but i feel that it is worth mentioning twice in that case.. simply showing that the bible and history does not allow long enough period for neb's temporary absence from his office, is sufficient and there is no need for further calculations.

will there be earthquakes in the new world?

today it is held that the majority of earthquakes are caused by slipping of large sections of the earth along faults or cracks in the earth, while others are due to volcanic activity or the collapse of limestone caverns.

among the theories advanced to account for the slippage of faults is the strain caused by contraction due to the cooling of the earth.

i found this somewhat amusing old passage:

?the lord jesus has now come to the temple for judgment, and the remnant of the members of ?his body?

yet on earth he has gathered into the temple condition of perfect unity with himself (malachi 3:1-3), and hence those faithful men of old may be expected back from the dead any day now.

as far as i can remember (195x) smoking was not accepted among dubs.

somewhere along the line it was classified as a df'n offence.

when this change came about?.

Grounds for divorce

tens of years ago homosexuality and other bestiality was not acceptable grounds for dub to divorce.

however i have run across several opinions that this is not anymore so called "present truth".. what would be contemporary "present truth"?.
