I mentioned the same thing once. That they would look at it as an Eco freindly green thing to do. Save gas.

just got back from the assembly the bookstudy will be part of the ministry school service metting as of 2009. the cost of fuel is 1 reason.
to many elders taking bookstudys time could be better spent on other things.
family heads can now spend more time with there familys.

Moonpie,
I cannot say anything more that what others have already said. But, what I will offer is support.
I hope you make the right decision.

It all depends on the individual and how fast their awakening process works. Some will never be affected and will continue with their mundane lives.
Dogpatch posted a nice thread ealier. You might read it. It details some of the reasons why some members will not or cannot ever leave the cult/sect.
I cannot remeber the name of it but is there.

that's the conclusion i've reached.
.
i see persons who love being martyrs by going to the kingdom hall and not being able to literally breathe because they are allergic to perfumes and colognes, and they cough, their eyes water and they actually cry that no one cares about their plight-----but they still go and are "faithful" meeting attenders yet bitch and moan to anyone that will hear them.. then you get those that are handicapped and it's a huge deal to get into a car to go out in service and they cry that nobody really cares about them.. when an elder doesn't pick a person to comment, that martyr will dutifully go to the meetings, say the conductor doesn't like him/her and pray to jehovah for the strength to endure.. i swar, jws love feeling persecuted!.
Psychologically obsessive suppressive.

okay all, i know we talked about this a couple months ago but i am certain that in just the last few days jwd has seen an enormous surge in newbies!.
should we be concerned or excited or what??.
are we in a "sifting work" again?
I call it an awakening. Interesting isn't it. But, they all have to start somewhere. It is all part of the therapeutic recovery of JWism. Ex-JW's need a place to vent an to "find" they are not alone in their endeavors. Leaving the JW is a challenging situation within itself let alone the recovery of the cultish socialism that it brings. It is a society of obsessive oppressiveness and they have to rid themselves of the hold it has on them.

i just had a conversation with my sibling regarding free will.
he's going on and on about how jehoover gave us free will and that gives us the choice to accept him or not.
now, i will confess that i never paid attention at the meetings, didn't give a hoot about doctrine, the bible or whatever they were spewing from the platform so maybe that's why i don't get this.
There is nothing free in this world.
Everything has a price. Even life itself.
Just an out-of-the-box thought.
