What happened to your marriage after you stopped believing?

i know some posters here went through or are going through some painful things right now because of no longer believing when they have a husband / wife that still does.

others were able to free the minds of their spouse.

i'm assuming the latter is a lot more rare.. anyone that wishes to share their story, please do.. i'm looking to pass the info on to someone who doesn't totally believe, but may marry a jw.

i don't have a certain set of beliefs yet i still hope there is a god and contrary to what some have assumed, i'm not an agnostic or athiest (yet)..

ill try to be brief, prob could do a whole topic on each point.. i was born a jw, one of 7 kids.

my mum ruled house with iron fist (whole story just there) we were the perfect jw family, never missed fs or meetings all baptised at magic age of 14, all pioneered.

recently there have been news reports of teenagers killing themselves because they couldn't take being bullied any longer.. i hate bullies.

i would feel horrible if my grandkids ever got bullied.. have you ever put a bully in his or her place?.

Watchtower cleans out Kingdom Hall Library's ...

last night i got a call from a chap in the uk, who recently left the jw's.

he wanted to compare notes with his us counterparts.. he said that a few years ago, (i think about 2 years ago) the society cleaned out all the literature from every kingdom hall, particularly russell and rutherford books and anything prior to 1950. giving each hall a computer with the watchtower cd rom for them to use for research.

he wanted to know if the same was done in the states.

They had a quickbuild hall not too long ago and the library survived the move....So if there ever has been instructions to rid themselves of old books, it is not universally followed

so oompa has lost 15 pounds the last three months....i kinda wanted to...but it is really easy on this diet....for many reasons....leaving wife...going through settlement (arrrggghhh)....pending divorce.....pending totally losing jw parents and son, and of course already lost all my lifelong jw friends....and then of course there is secret trouble aplenty which most of you could prob guesswhat oompa is involved in......... so anyway...i have always carried stress in my tummy...as in kinda nervous stomach.....so i also lost most of my appetite...and then the great part is when i do eat...a lot of times i lose it about ten minutes later anyway!!!

!..........very effective way to lose weight.....and i know i am not the only one like this....but all i need is about another three weeks of this hell and i will be at my high school weight!!!!!...............oompa.

see theres always a brite side!!!

Shit..when I get stressed I eat. I have to force myself to lose weight. I'm envious that you've lost 15 lbs..I could sure stand to lose 15 myself..lol

How many of you were baptised at a young age?

one thing this site has made me reflect on the baptism practice in jw land.. many of us were raised in the religion, thus you were given the pressure early on to shoot for baptism as a goal.. i remember feeling bad because i waited until the ripe old age of 14 to take the plunge.. looking back, i realize that when i was 14, i didnt even know what my favorite color was, let alone have enough knowledge to make a life altering decision.

yet, growing up in that climate, i would say anyone who waited past their early teens to get baptised was viewed with great suspicion and was likely to be viewed as "bad association".

kids who took the dip at 8-9 years of age were viewed as "wise beyond their years" and the like.. how old were some of you when you were baptised, and what are your feelings on the matter?.

JWs having Facebook Sex - Strongly warned to get off FB at CA yesterday

so it appears that jws are letting their freaky side come out on fb for everyone to see.. there was talk on the ca yesterday strongly warning all true lovers of jehovah to delete their fb accounts.

the talk was solely about fb.

the speaker mentioned that jws are associating with people that would not associate with in real life, often using the excuse that the person is a relative.

Wow!! Me and my FB Farm Town avitar were reading this and it got my avitar so worked up that he took the two female avitars he hired into the barn with him to do a little harvesting and plowing of his own..LOL BTW, the cows and horses were watching too!!

FB Sex..I like sex and I like face but I cannot imagine facebook sex..lol
