Ouija Board Hysteria
by Megachusen ini always wondered why jw's were always so afraid of ouija(pronounced as "wee-yaw" not "wee-gee") boards.
does anyone have any speculation about who started these jw myths?.
anyone who has actually tried the board and would like to give their opinions are welcome.

Analysis of the Book of Daniel
by Londo111 ini had hoped one or two others were about to start a thread on the book of daniel, springing off from the nwt conversation, but alas, nobody has yet.
therefore, i thought i'd start one--i hope that was not too presumptuous of me.
personally, i have nothing meaty to contribute to this thread, only questions and gut feelings.

Have Jehovah's Witnesses (The WTBTS) taken the Best Years of your life?
by Hairyhegoat inhaving been a born in for 44 years i can say yes to this question.
my 2 sisters and 1 brother and my dad have nothing to do with my family now we have made our stand against the jw's.
i was always downtrodden at school for been a jw.

Have they taken the "Best" years, no. But they are gonna damn sure make the rest of them pretty uncomfortable. I "wish" I could turn back time but that's impossible so I have to roll with the punches. Things are just not the same anymore but I'll work thru it. The only time of the year when things are difficult is now.
I hope everyone the very best.

Has anyone learned how to read hebrew?
by EndofMysteries inif so, did you take a class, use a program, and how long or how many hours of study/learning would it realistically take to be able to read the bible in hebrew from when you begin to learn?
.
i am trying to decide if it's something i want to pursue since bible translations and even interlinears seem to cloud out some key messages and phrases.

It appears that I am being hunted down (visited by two elders)
by maninthemiddle inrecently two elders caught my wife at the door while i was away.
they mentioned the need to talk to me about something on facebook.
yes, i know how facebook can be, but i choose to use it anyway.. the strange thing is, i just spent a alot of time looking at it, and nothing is publicly available, so unless a one spouse of an inactive jw is looking at it, i don't see how they were able to get this information.. anyway, that wasn't my real question.. i haven't been to any kh in over 2 years, i haven't seen the elder (24 year old) in about two years and don't even know the other (he is recently out of bethel, but older 50ish?)..

Keeping Records
by truthseeker1969 inok who can definitively answer how long the society keeps records before having to "chuck 'em out"?.
i know the law in europe makes it clear that they can not be kept any "longer than necessary", but gives no time frame to use.. any elders in the uk have a clue?
in the us they have no such law so i know they can hold on as long as they like, case in point.

2 months of downers.
by LouBelle ini've had a very difficult 2 months since my uncle has died.
it is not becasue of his death, it just so happend to follow his death and that is the time line.. i've always been a strong woman, from little, i had to stand on my own two feet and not lean on anyone - and i that is how i tick.. each instance has hit me financially and has been piled high on my plate.
there have been days when i thought i should end it all and literally take my own life - if i had something quick at my disposal, i know i wouldn't be here now.
