i am curious about who (after leaving) went on to other religions vs. lost faith completely.
once i started questioning the wt society, i began to question everything.
as jw's we are taught from childhood up that other religions are false - so it seems easy, after elliminating the last one, to be rid of religion altogether.. .

home cooked, healthy if possible?
mine is probably some sort of salad.
Don't forget the Oysters & Tobasco.
Q
i have recently left the wts and almost have my da letter ready to send.
my wife is still in and is higly upset by my stand.
she is afraid she'll lose her parents because they are still jw's and refuses to leave the wts, she still beleives it.
Well, My wife wants us to legally separate. We are going to go see an attorney. I offered to go seek marriage counseling but she refuses to do so. She will not seek a divorce but I know that is what she wants. She says that she wants a spiritual partner in the KH with her and I can no longer be that person with my change in the beliefs of the JW doctrine.
This is going to be tough. We have been together for 25 years. I'm starting to feel the repercussions emotionally because I still love this person.
Losing it.

how many here have had jw friends that can only have a good time when they drink?
i've known plenty - ones with obvious drinking problems.
not necessarialy alcoholics, but ones that equate good times with drinking, and drinking alone.
I do understand the dilemma here. I too, used to drink quite often but very rarely did before I became a JW. After seeing how the Dubs drank it ruined me again and my thoughts about the religion. Because everywhere you went with them aIl they did was drink. I now see myself doing the same thing everyone on this thread is speaking of, drinking more. Sometimes more than I used to back in the day. And, yes, I try to hide it from my spouse. She has strong issues against drinking period.
I just recently left the dubs and I am going thru some strong marital issues because my spouse still belongs and attends regularly. I am currently in a position that I do not know where the relationship is going.
The children are also being difficult, even though they or young adults out of school. One still living at home and feels that a curfew does not apply to them since they are almost 19 but they are still in my house. The other one recently moved out and I haven't had much contact in about two weeks but I am hearing some erie gossip as to what this one is doing and I do not approve of.
I know it shouldn't, and I should not let it, but the stress of it all compells me to want a drink. Also, my spouse is a very controlling person and this is my way of rebelling.
I feel like I am going to hell in a handbasket.
Losing it.

looking back over the posts of the last few weeks by some, i really am embarrased over the amount of time i spent going door to door.
we all imagined and then knew what the house holder must have been saying about us.
"there's them damn jw's again, preaching to us.
Boy I sure don't miss those days! I could have been a lot more productive in other areas. I cringe at the thought.
