  The Watchtower----A Book Publishing Company???

  sure they publish books and they used to do that quite a bit.

  but now, i wouldn't primarily call it a "book publishing company".

  they charge nothing for the literature.

  Let's Hear It for Canadian Rockers!

  hello all, i am just curious if there any fans of the canadian rockers out there?

  i am a huge fan of aldo nova and doucette being a couple.

  there are many other bigger bands or individuals i could list but don't want to ruin the fun.

  please dont comment saying to "run" or "get out while i can" thank you im not new to this, so i can handel it.

  i have been with my boyfriend for 3 years, we started dating in high school and now i am going to college and he is working.

  i am 20 and he is 21, i was raised catholic but my mom and i are too open minded for the church so we left.

  Welcome Stillinlove - There is not much I can say that others haven't. I will tell you it will be a difficult road to travel. If you and your mother were "too" open minded for the Catholics then you sre in for a rude awakening. That is why your boyfreind is small minded. The JW religion controls that portion of their life and their thinking.

  Now, you do not mind if your children are witnesses but you want them to experience other cultures, dating and soforth. This may be difficult being in a religion that is very controlling regarding these issues.

  This even speaks as far as headship is concerned. As OTWO mentioned, he may be a "strong" JW someday and this will put a bump in the relationship if you are as strongminded as you say you are. Or, if you become a JW and submit to the mind contolled brain washing effects it may not bother you.

  You have to think this completely thru yourself. I suggest "Do your research about the religion" before you commit to anything.

  Why do they call it "The Truth" ?

  if the "truth" keeps changing shouldn't they call it "in search of the truth"?

  an orange is always an orange, and apple always an apple they do not change.

  so how is it "truth" can change?

  Your JW Baptism

  i was 16 years old when i got baptised - 1992 - it was at one of the two day assemblies.

  only a few of us got baptised.

  i pulled out the pictures - there i stood proudly with a friend of mine in our cosies (shirts over) towels wrapped around us.

  Well, talk like that is pretty brave when your on a PC but it is also very uncalled for. I call that Alligator mouth - Hummingbird a$$!

  We are not here to poke fun of or slander anyone because of ones lack of education. I didn't further my education after HS but I hold a pretty prestigious position that my collegues that did pursue a further education could never do.

  i reckon that the wt is going to go down the line of giving publishers their own password so they can download specific litterature from the web.

  the passwords will be doled out by the elders, to whom the bethell in each country will send them.

  (each one will identify a specific witless) .

  hampsterbait - That's some pretty wild sh#t but you are probably not too far off course with some of the literature being on-line. On-line literature has become very effective in my line of business. Most of them have discontinued publishing catalogs and manuals due to the expense. Almost everything is done on-line.
