  wondering if anyone else is taking advantage of the subject matter being covered these past few weeks at the bookstudy (revelation climax book) regarding religion's association with the blasphemous scarlet colored wild beast (un organization)?

  this week especially does the book get into religion's "heinous" involvement with the un with the wt society's writers even sarcasticly poking fun at other religions who have supported the un.

  i, for one, have been taking full advantage of this grand opportunity to "witness" to as many j-dubs as possible about the wt society's secret 10 year involvement with the un and subsequent coverup.

  The problem is that most people still want to believe that it isn't real. When I first started learning about all of this, I ran out and told a bunch of people expecting them to react like I did. But they didn't. They just dismissed it. When I told a relative about the response letter on the UN website, they said that we couldn't trust the UN because it the the "Scarlet Colored Wild Beast".

  The WT Society has done an incedibly effective job of creating distrust in everyone/everything but them.

  It's like they have everyone addicted to "Crazy Pills".

  It never works out for me when I try to let people know about the NGO involvment. If you slip it into a conversation, all you get is a canned relpy like: "Where did you hear that?" which leads to another reply of: "That's just apostate propaganda."

  I am still undercover, so I cannot tell anyone how much research I have done, and that I know it is fact, so it just gets brushed aside.

  It is difficult to sit through a bookstudy and listen to all of the mis-information and manufactured history in the Revelation book.

  The end of the end- your thoughts?

  so what does everyone think of the wt info from the past year comparing the time of the end to israel's escape from egypt?

  it said (paraphrasing):"the wt may even give specific instructions that seem to lead us into the face of danger just as the israelites were led to the red sea with their enemies pursuing them from the other side.

  " also what do you think of the past two year texts- "obey god as ruler rather than men" and "stand firm and see the salvation of jehovah"?

  I have heard rumors of this before... That there was a letter to each BOE about it. Is it official?

  anyone else feel inadequate

  over the past 10 years ive tried coming back to the truth only to find myself back in the world doing silly things again and again.

  i am onnce again determined to come back to the truth but feel that i am beyond redemption.

  i feel ashamed going to talk to the elders cause they have dealt with me on two other occasions once being disfellowshipped 10 years ago and reproved two years ago.

  I find it ironic that for all of the constant admonition to STUDY STUDY STUDY, the KM from (I believe) September 2007 was discouraging any investigation outside of the WTBS publications.

  Not sure if this will help you or not, but here goes:

  As the son of an elder, born into the organization, I was always under the mcroscope. People would pick at every little thing, and though I never did anything wrong (even by JW standards) I was never doing enough. At the same time, I saw others getting away with whatever, things getting covered over, power plays, politics, and outright scandals. I struggled for a long time with things going on in the Hall. I would get discouraged and frustrated with what other people were doing, questioning how "Holy Spirit" could allow such things in the congregation.

  Then one day, while doing some research, I came across some information that made me start questioning fundamental dates. That made me do even more research outside of the WT index and the WT Library CD-rom.

  I started reading whatever I could get my hands on. I know the internet has been condemned by the society for years, so I went to the public library and started checking out references and following up on "facts" presented in the literature. What I found was astonishing.

  10p posted a comment earlier about reading Richard Dawkin's works. Oddly enough, it was a reference in the Creation book that got me to start reading The Selfish Gene by Dawkins. That will change your perspective on a lot of things.

  Don't let yourself feel inadequate. Work hard to really learn the facts, and weigh them carefully. The "truth" is not always the truth.

  Others who know the truth about the truth!

  within the past week i have met two others in my area who are closet apostates, like me.

  one still attends and one does not.

  but it is noce to know that they are there and we can have conversations about it.

  Most people are just afraid of what will happen. When you spend your entire life in a community of people, the thought of being suddenly cast out is quite alarming. Think about it. If you are raised in the truth, you probably are not allowed to develop friendships outside of the congregation. And you most likely have very little interaction with non-witness family members... so if you lose that social tether, you are alone.

  How have you benefited by leaving the WT Organization?

  this is just a curious study.

  i would love to get everyone's input on how each individual or couple has benefited from leaving the jw/wtbs as well as how their life is currently vs. being part of the organization.. eyes wide open .

  I have yet to leave physically (for several reasons) so I still put up with many of the things listed in this thread.

  But... now that I see reality, now that I can step back and look at what is going on without the rose-colored glasses, now that I can allow myself to question the authority of the Society, it is very liberating.

  My whole life I have always seen the Faithful and Discreet Slave as the last word in every matter. I can remember whenever a question would come up about something said during a talk, peole would say, " Well, until I read it in the WatchTower..." like the WTBS is the authority on everything. It is great not feeling guilt over thinking for yourself. It is great to realize that a group of guys in Brooklyn who have lost their grasp of the real world, have absolutely no impact on me at all. It is great to realize that Elders and CO's have no real authority or power over you unless you let them have it.

  It is like when Dorothy and the Tin Man, etc were standing before the "Great Oz" and then saw the pityful little man pulling levers behind the curtain...
