when i was a witness i remember asking one of the elders if it would be alright to donate to different causes/charities like the american cancer society,st judes hospital etc.
he told me that these organizations only provide temporary relief whereas god kingdom would provide permanent relief.
) he was so down on these organizations but yet when he needed them for help he sure didnt hesitate to ask them.
JWs additude toward helping organizations is like that of the people in the scriptures that said that they couldn't help their elderly parents because their funds were dedicated to something holy - It's just an excuse not to do the right thing.

A couple of years ago, I dug up some of the old references stating that the GB was not infallible. I looked it up because another JW relative and I were arguing about whether or not they were. When I pointed to the WT references, they said "Be careful... that's apostate thinking"

I had an elder come by on a psuedo-shepherding call the other day. He read a scripture and applied it to me, implying that I had a problem. I wasn't rude to him, but I looked him straight in the eye and told him he was interpreting the scriptures based on HIS opinion. It was like I threw cold water in his face!
