Well how do they do it how does the Watchtower stay open they can't really survive off of just donations they must be in the stockmarket or dealing some stuff on the sides. Does anyone really know?

Had a visit last Saturday from an elder....
by gymbob inhe said he was just checking addresses because my house was on the "do not call" list, and he was checking to see if the same people lived here or had moved away.
so i told him that nobody that lives in this house has asked jw's not to call, and that it was probably at the request of my ex-wife who knows i don't attend anymore.. so he gives me that ookaaayy look..... i'm out working in the yard and so we sit down in the garage to have a chat..... he doesn't know me, but i remember him from a different cong., and he doesn't know i da'd myself over 5 years ago.
he also doesn't know how much i've learned and how long i've been waiting for this day!.

You should of told him you had more questions and invited him to come back. It's going to be a long while before they come back and when and if he does he will bring and even wiser elder.

Why don't they encourage education?
by reficul ini was born into the religion and 3 years ago on april 1st decided to move out i haven't gone since.
i moved out live on my own decided to go to college.
i remember the meetings it was never encouraged to go to college why i ask.

I was never allowed to have WORLDLY friends, I didn't got to my prom, I didnt get to communicate with others or the world unless they were witnesses. No birthdays, no girlfriends, no encouragement to go to college. Can say dam ohhh I never went to any of my high school football game we had 3 congregations and the elder of one of the others always made it to where his congregation was off on fridays and could go to the foot ball games. I have much more I got babtized on the 3rd try the only reason is because the elder saying no died so no one could say no.

Well they took 22 years of it I am 25 I still got more years to gain back I never made any outside friends even the ones inside were a-holes to me just a few that were borderline i still talk to but the rest were jerks...

I remember the meetings it was never encouraged to go to college why I ask. They would only tell us to goto high school. What are they so afraid of can someone explain this.
