I read a theory somewhere or other, that in western countries with high media control (outright banned movies) that the rate of serial killers goes up. Which makes sense, if a lunatic sits in a theater and watches the group react to the brutal death then its no longer a forbidden unique act, its a gross one. The French (I think) have a lower case of killers per capita than other developed nations yet they were making films in the early fifties that could never be shown in a north american theater today. Could be bull, but sounds interesting. I have a few other theories I could dig up, but I barely post here and it might freak people out :)

he sent letters to police boasting to them.
in 2004 he foolishly sent police a floppy disc with information on it.

My bro was talking about cults in general, a few different ones from the 70's. I brought up the mormons and said they were kind of weird. Then I did a little more research into them and was horrified, I called him and brought up mormons and their foundation and he got cold. I imagine he thought "what is the history of the JW's?" and then immediately shut down.

I'm going to use this thread as a place to vent! So please bare with me. I haven't been to the hall for 8 years. A week or so ago I was thinking about going back to the "truth", I started thinking about the theology of the JW's and wanted to compare it to what critics had to say on the religion. What an eye opener. I felt kind of creeped out when I first came to this site, even after eight years they have a hold on me.

How do I get out my (biological)brother who's questioning the religion? A while back he was talking about cults and wanted buying a few books to understand them. I mentioned something about the Mormons and the foundation of the church. I mentioned it a few days later and he got a cold tone in his voice. i personally think they were zealot delusions.

Another run in with the old demons. I've traveled all over the place for long long periods of time. Once when I was Papua new guinea, I visited a head hunting cave that was supposed to be cursed. Shortly after words I became semi-catatonic. The locals said that this is common and a witch doctor came around and cured me. A miracle the demons helped me. Only after little research and visiting a hospital did I find out that, I was allergic to the Malaria pills I was taking and this happens to people. And tat the witch doctor gave me a heavy stimulant!

Very interesting! I've had a few experiences, well things I thought were experiences in the past. The first, I was 16 (stopped going to the hell at 14ish) a friend of mine was going to a hypnotist (for entertainment) 3 times a week for months and months on end. This one time I saw him, he was acting very odd. Saying he could predict the future etc.. After a while he started to freak out (mental-case style) and I thought he was possessed. I freaked out at his freaking out, and I reverted back to the JW logic. Only later did I realize that he was STILL hypnotized and having some sort of mental break!

I watched Lost back to back all 3 seasons with my bro (he's still a JW, although I think he's leaving but won't admit it). Pilot Guides, a long long backpacking trip makes you realize that there is a Big world out there, far from the JW thing
