Hello everyone
by Wordlygirl ini have been lurking on here for some time and i finally decided to join the fray.
i am 25 years old and was raised in the society.
fortunately when i was 8, my father left the organization and this allowed me to see the wrold from both angles, the jw (mom) and not (dad).. at first, i was strongly on the side of the witnesses and i even allowed myself to be convinced that getting baptised at 11 was a good idea.

by snowbird init's also called souse.. there was a show on radio this morning about farm life, and a caller told how it's done.. my mother used to make a big container for xmas.. i'm really waxing nostalgic here.. sylvia.

My aunt had a small grocery store in Texarkana. A customer sent her small child in to get some hog head souse. The little kid came to the counter and asked for some sour hog ass!
Never seen it or smelled it; don't intend to. I do eat chicken livers though.

Some days I feel older than I should. Then it feels like all the power has gone out of my body, and the strength out of my hands. It becomes hard to separate a health issue from an age issue.
Chelbie, BF, and Beks, I have that book too! But I haven't done a program in a very long time. The other day I was feeling like I wanted to do something very beginnery; so I ordered one of those pulley things we used to use from the 70's. Does anyone remember? You hang it on the doorknob. Well, that's how old I am.

1 year sober today...it can be done!
by digderidoo injust wanted to post here to say i am now 1 year sober.
funny thing is i don't miss drink at all, it took a 3 or 4 months of hard work about 18 months ago and have not looked back since.. this is my first thread about the aa, posted january 2008.. http://www.jehovahs-witness.net/jw/friends/150354/1/went-to-aa-meeting-last-night.
i would encourage anyone who thinks they may have a problem to get help, it is out there.. since i have become sober i am now doing a law degree, took up scuba diving, got my kids involved in snorkelling, scuba, horse riding and shooting.
