It would be weird to live in a worldwide nudist colony.

Why do elders not disfellowship inactive people?
by kenpodragon inwhen i left the religion, i walked away and did not get df'ed or da myself.
in doing so, my wife left the religion at the same time.
in our life we have been very nonwitness in our life.

I faded away about seven months ago and since then only a couple of pioneer "sisters" have been by my house about four times.I guess the elders don't care about their "lost sheep".

Do JWs eat fat?
by scooter inreading some of the recent posts on the blood issue reminded me of a verse that i have never yet had a jw explain.
lev 3:17 in the nwt reads " it is a statute to time indefinite for your generations, in all your dwelling places: you must not eat any fat or blood at all.".
jws use other verses to try and show that we mustn't eat blood as = having a blood transfusion.

scooter,
If jws were not allowed to eat fat how could they take all those breaks at Mickey D's?
blondie,
My car group never ate fast;the slower you eat,the more time you can count.

Active...ummm....Witnesses
by Crystal ini have noticed that when jw's come to my house, they refer to themselves as "bible students".now i know they have been calling themselves that for years, but now it's like you have to pry it out of them to tell you they are "jehovah's witnesses.".
i also noticed that the article about the tragic car wreck asked you to send your donations to "the kingdom hall of witnesses.
"to help pay for burials of the five children, call kingdom hall of witnesses minister larry mcquater at (601) 366-1076 or send donations to kingdom hall of witnesses, box 9744, jackson ms 39209.. .

When I stopped going in service we didn't identify ourselves at all at the doors. We'd say something like"Good morning,we were just talking to your neighbors about the Bible and we'd like to share a scripture with you".That is how they would do it in demonstrations.Never ID'ed themselves as JWs.

If you feel statements in the book are unfounded and not backed up by scripture, then why do you even bother to go?Your'e suppose to be getting your spiritual food, not being bored to death.By the way,I stopped attending meetings about halfway through the Isaiah book and I still wonder what it was talking about.

Ministry School or Lets play pretend
by Beans inlooking back at the kingdom ministry school it really seemed like a childish game of lets play pretent.
somebody gives you an outline and sisters and brothers would act it out, like any of this stuff really ever happened.
you never saw anybody act out the door slam or any vulgar comments, now that would have made it interesting eh!

There was one talk in my hall where two witnesses walked up to the door and the householder started yelling at them to get off of her property and and everybody laughed because it was much more real than what's usually presented.Of course in the end the witnesses won her over.(Yes, I'd love to hear more about God's promise of a new world. Please come back next week and discuss it with me.)GET REAL!!

Did he get stiffed by the elders?
by writerpen inin an earlier topic, blondie made reference to heated discussions in congregations over kh builds.
this raises a question.
my father was and elder who was selected as the building coordinator for the new kh in our local area about 2-3 years ago.
