I believe Angelo had a brother who served on a body of elders in New Jersey or New York. I had corresponded with him regarding a reinstatement.

Isaacaustin:
Danny Bowles was brought in to our circuit to clean up after lunitic CO had wreaked havoc. Always thought Danny was kind. I heard he died some years ago.
George Warienchuck was related to my best friend's family. Last I knew, he was serving Portugese language circuits. I remember him insisting on paying for my friend and me when we met him in the lounge at the Newark, NJ airport. I liked him as a person, although I don't know what it was like to be "served" by him.

reasons for the new song book, according to a dub
by highdose injust asked a loyal dub i know why has the org now given out a song book, with so many songs taken out?
she looked at her convention notes and replied that the soceity said that some of the songs in the old song book were too difficult for new people to learn to sing.. and this was said with all seriousness... she totaly brought it!.

Ideally, the Society would like to revise the songbook every ten years. From the time revision begins to release is approximately 13 years (i.e., 1969 to 1982 for the last songbook). Translation new songbook lyrics is daunting. The reason the new songbook took longer than this is that many language groups did not have the New World Translation in their language and priority had to be given to Bible translation.
The many songs that were cut were judged to be inferior musically and lyrically. One of the manifestations of this is that they were hard to sing--even for professional singers.

Hooray! Watchtower Will Stop Molesting Bees!!
by metatron infor years, loyal jehovah's witnesses have been singing about molesting bees and that "i can ever beat them off" well, it's good to know that this "beating off" capacity is the personal affirmation of every one of jehovah's people..... but no more.. i don't know what quasi-senile half wit came up with this awful song that makes anyone over the age of 18 cringe but i was told that it has been dropped from the new song book ("jehovah is my side" song 125 ).
i'm sure the bees are pleased with this "new light".

With all due respect to Farkel, and I could be wrong, but I believe Ron Fallic, an elderly brother from one of the South American Branch offices wrote the lyrics to 125, as he wrote most of the lyrics in the 1982 songbook. The lyrics to "From House to House" were written by Harold King and I believe Karl Klein or Vern Duncombe wrote the music. I used to have a list of all the composers and lyricists so I'm working from memory.

I was acquainted with Tim and was close to his father whom I helped to reactivate. The last I heard, the three girls were all still active JWs (a blond, a redhead and a brunette).

My Story
by ~Jen~ ini was raised a jw by very strict parents who, in my early teen years were physically and then later emotionally abusive all the while with my dad being and elder (and he still is).
i didn't want to be a jw then but my life was all about making my parents happy which started with me being baptized at 13. my parents constantly drilled into my head that most things were "bad" and i was "bad" i constantly did whatever i could to avoid being bad.
i had no life but then met a nice jw boy when i was 17. against my better judgement, i stayed with him and married him when i was 20. i didn't have a lot in common with him but he was really nice and was safe - he was a witness and even though i wanted to be in the world so bad i chose to be with him because he would keep me grounded, in the truth and away from where i really wanted to be because it was the right thing to do.. we were married for 7 years and have 3 sons.. for the past few years i've known that i did not want to be a jw even more and was sick of being fake.

Hi Jen,
Welcome.
Regarding "the world" being all bad, my experience is that, yes, there are bad people. However the good people far outnumber them. These people are good in ways not comprehended or contemplated by the Witnesses. They have built hospitals and donated vast amounts to any number of charities. In war, they have given their lives for ideals that have proven to be for the good of mankind. They have created art, in many forms, that enriches our lives. They have produced literature that expands our understanding of just about anything there is to understand. They solve problems and work hard at meaningful tasks. They love unconditionally.
In reality, you are leaving a very limited and artificial environment.
Prior comments in this thread have advised you to inform yourself. Please do, so as to steer away from the bad and embrace the good.
Best of success.

Why The WTS chooses to shoot itself in the foot
by besty infrank and barbara kavelin's recent disfellowshipping for 'apostasy' two years after they stopped going to meetings made me ponder why exactly the wts frequently pursues people long after they have disappeared off the jw scene.
at first glance it seems a counterproductive strategy to make enemies out of people who would otherwise leave quietly.
i've had the pleasure of getting to know frank and barb over the last year or so and i know for a fact that frank's story would not be on jwn and freeminds if he hadn't been disfellowshipped.
