If you don't celebrate Christmas because it came from pagans, or birthdays because it come's from pagans, why do you wear jewelry? why do you follow a calendar with pagan names? Wouldn't Jehovah have given you your own Christain calendar?

What is the best question to ask a witness

i would say why dont you have a book study anymore but that one is done to death... we had a witness recently and i asked for the latest jw only mag (he didn't realise i used to be in his cong... have i done that good a job at fading?
) it was a laugh to see the two of them struggle to come up with an answer.... ok lets here the best you can come up with, there has to be some better than mine, what question will leave them stuck for an answer...... .

I joined Weight Watchers today!
by Princess Daisy Boo ini am a bit of a yo yo dieter - i have been dieting ever since i was a teenager, and my role model for this was my mom of course.
in fact one of my very early memories of going shopping with mom and her buying a diet shake mix.
well... i have a little girl who is almost three and i have been thinking about things and i really need to break this cycle of crash diets, losing 5 kgs and picking up 10 once i have lost motivation.

Wishing you great luck on the WW diet. I have been doing it on my own just buying smart one meals and checking the internet for help. I've been doing it for 3 wks. lost 5 lbs. Husband is doing it also and lost 10 lbs. in the 3 wks. We did take up walking 2 1/2 miles a day and that is helping too.
A friend of mine started it in January and so far lost 20 lbs. so I'm using her for my inspiration. I like the smart one meals and love their ice cream fudge bars only 1 pt. ( my friend doesn't even exercise).
When I get really hungry I cook up a bag of frozen green beans and add a touch of virgin coconut oil, sprinkle a bit of shredded cheese over the top and cover in baco's. The beans are 0 pt. the baco's are 0 pts. and 1 pt. for the cheese. Coconut oil ( I can't find a point caclulator for that) but its suppose to be one of the healthiest oils to eat. This makes a huge bowl and totally fills me up.

Well I'm Out!!!!
by ImFreeatlast init took a long time, but i can finally say i'm out and i took my family with me.. this is my first post but i have been reading here for a while.
i was brought up a witness, in a family that was very 'strong' (or so everyone thought).
i didnt have a relationship with my perents at all other than the 'family study'.

Congratulations, it is so encouraging, I am not a JW, never was, but looking for way's to reach my daughter, her husband and save their children ages 6 and 4. I too like the choice of wording " help me understand". I keep hanging out here and trying to learn from all here on what to do and what not to do. This sight is so very helpful and I'm really grateful for all the post and encouragement. There are some awsum people on here and very intelligent threads. It's wonderful that all those that broke away stick around here to help other's and share their experiences.

Movies I missed growing up a witness?
by inkling inok, so a recent post about the godfather got me thinking what a massively sheltered life i had growing up, .
and all the classic r rated (or otherwise offensive to delicate jw sensibilities) movies i must have missed.. i am not easily offended now, and am open to pretty much any genre.. i have a lot of catching up to do, so i could use some help-.
what are your all time favorite movies, "inappropriate for christians" or otherwise?.

Hi everyone, I am a newbie. I'm not a JW and never have been. I'm here for my daughter, son-in-law and grand-kids. I need to find way's to try to open their eye's that they are not in the truth as they believe they are. My daughter was not raised JW. She married a man that was raised JW and she got baptized 5 yrs. ago. I was actually searching the web to see if I could find bible scripture that backs up the belief of not celebrating bdays. I stumbled on this sight and thought I could get some insight to see if their are any scriptures that back up celebrating bdays, holidays, ect...
I have read coc and in search of christain freedom. Big eye opener. I wish I could just tell them to go to this sight and READ but I know they what they have been told about the internet. I would love to just give them the book COC, but knowing they could get d'fellowshipped just from reading it, they would probably just throw it away.
I hope y'all don't mind my being here. I'm just trying to learn all I can and hopefully find a way to reach my daughter and husband before they get my grand-kids brain washed into this WTS.
Just thought I would explain why I'm here and I'am very thankful for all the great info.

I would love for my daughter and son-in-law to find this sight. They need their eye's open before my grand-kids ( 4 & 6) end up going through what so many of you have been through. I can't send them this link in email, not sure how they would take it coming from me, any offer's?? I am not a JW, year's ago I studied but never could agree with their extremes. Never would have dreamed that 30 yrs. later my daughter would get baptized. I even supported her. I can't support it any longer, my grand-kid's are being brain washed and abused by not getting to take part in Christmas, the pledge at school, feeling left out on Valentines day and birthday parties. I have to find a way to save them. So, I'm not here lurking to spy, I'm here reading and learning. My daughter could learn so much here, I know they are warned about the internet and they don't have it at home but she does have it at work. She may not have a lot of time to read but if she could only get curious.
