  life was comfortable familiar sense of belonging.. brotherhood..direction..meaning..save the world etc.

  Has the "Faithful and Discreet Slave" correctly foretold anything?

  one of the issues that really helped me open my eyes to the fallacy of the claims of the "faithful and discreet slave" class is that they have not been right on anything they said would happen in the future.

  every instance of "new light" is simply a hindsight adjustment and their attempt to allign the beliefs with what actually is happening or already occurred.

  when you examine all of their dates, and what was supposed to happen on them, as well as the generation of 1914 and the date of the sealing of the annointed, etc, etc, can you think of anything the f&ds has accurately foretold by means of "jehovahs" spirit.. don.

  What does Romans 10:9,10 mean to a JW?

  romans 10:9,10.

  "...if you confess with your mouth jesus as lord, and believe in your heart that god raised jesus from the dead, you shall be saved; for with the heart man believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, resulting in salvation.".

  in my ten years as a jw, there was absolutely no emphases to the importance of this scripture.

  In my ten years as a JW, there was absolutely no emphases to the importance of this scripture. What did this scripture mean to the average JW?

  the recent internet phenomenon seems to be that 1. some news story breaks, and then 2. people start talking about it and twittering and forwarding emails about it.

  and then it multiplies and multiplies until finally, 3. the whole world is talking about it.

  the same with the madoff scheme.

  First of all, the Watchtower has a huge problem. It has become stagnant. There are no new prophecies to agitate the waters. The rank and file is getting restless. Every meeting repeats the same old Armageddon predictions ... "soon!" "very near!" "any moment!". They are tired. They want their reward for the hard work. 1914 has faded into history ... another "mistake" for the books. The organization is losing members and money.

  Their magic formula is gone. Everything has gone stale.

  Bethel reductions in Europe

  perhaps this has been discussed before, but at the extjforo.com (the spanish ex-witness website) there has been a lot of discussion of the governing body's decision to either close or severely reduce bethel homes in europe - in particular spain.

  there was even a letter sent to all congregations in spain explaining the situation.

  bethalites are being asked to leave - they are not even getting other assignments.

  Birthday Beheadings

  we went to our granddaughters birthday party this weekend (my wife's first ever).... and no one was beheaded.... i kept waiting for someone to call for the head of so and so, but alas, we'll have to wait for the next one.. .

  How do you feel when you see groups of Jehovah's Witnesses in the ministry?

  regret, anger, frustration?

  how about sadness, sorrow, sympathy, understanding, even compassion!.

  it can be quite confusing at times, especially if some of those witnesses were your friends.

  Watching them go door to door in 102 degree weather in mid-summer with a suit on ... I'll offer them a cold drink and let them know that my love for Jesus Christ lead me out of the Watchtower. When I was a JW, I judged everyone ... now, I let my Savior and King do the judging.
