Brothers and sisters wouldn't be beneficial in the eyes of Jehovah to use your credit cards to give to his life saving work rather than spending it on worldly pleasures such as food, clothing, shelter and travel ?

Wouldn't you rather see the GB heads and their wives live in a comfortable living condition, such as a swimming pool and tennis courts, vehicles to drive and all pertaining health costs as they age ?

These things do cost money brothers and sisters, so offering your financial help and support would be greatly appreciated and would show your personal devotion to witnessing work as described within the bible..

But keep in mind that was before the nation has experienced Trump as a acting President.

If these recent polls are correct, you should see the Democrats win in November, (Presidency, Congress and the Senate) and not particularly by a huge landslide.

Both the truth and time has changed the JWS religion, the reason why this is so is related to the very core doctrines of which the faith was actually built upon ie. 1914 ,1975 " This Generation "

Simply put the doctrines to which this faith was built around were false, maybe inspired too much from a commercial perspective for literature proliferation.

one person yesterday said he lies.

another person said she hears from her clients in her business that the constant drama and push back from all sides against trump is fatiguing.. i remind people that before this worldwide pandemic, we had the best numbers in jobs.

It's funny how so many web sites create sensationalize garbage just to incite and attract viewers.

Thats the world we live in where 50% of what gets put into news web sites is unsubstantiated garbage and the other 50% has some relevant truth to the articles.

Hillary's political career is done, does anyone really think that she would be backed by the Democrat party after her last fail ?

One can expect that she will poke her head up and support Biden and his choice for VP but thats it for this gal.

A question about the contemporary generation teaching following a conversation with a JW apologist

i would like to ask the ex-jws on this site to put their ‘apologists hat’ back on for a moment, so that i can go through the overlapping generation teaching in an attempt to make sense of it.

i apologise if these points have already been addressed on this site.a quick background for the reason for my request… having never confronted a jw apologist on the topic, i recently engaged with a jw regarding the official understanding of a ‘generation’ and unfortunately he didn’t have an answer to the points i was making.

i was left a little confused as to what the official jw response would/should be.so i was hoping that my thoughts below might be considered from an apologist’s perspective.the point in question relates to this section of the watchtower article below from 2008, as well as the jw.org video explanation of the overlapping generation:---:w08 2/15[box on page 25] can we calculate the length of “this generation”?the word “generation” usually refers to people of various ages whose lives overlap during a particular time period or event.

The overlapping generation doctrine is an attempt by the WTS heads to make ancient mythology expressed in the bible real and valid, how to lure people and put them in a state belief ?

You also have to exploit their ignorance and vulnerabilities.

A unscrupulous businessman got into office who doesn't have a proven track record of even being a good businessman. Add in the fact he had no experience in politics, let a lone the highest level of politics in the nation, could these pertaining elements effect his performance as the president ?

Trump has taken a lot of negative hits since his term in office, although he did accomplish something, I think the negatives will overpower the postives and the voters will change over to the other party for the next election.

Rolf Furuli New Book

for those who haven't come across furuli before , he is a 77 year old norwegian professor and is ( or was ) one of the few "scholarly" jws used by the society and used as a source on various matters ( especially 607 bce ).. however recently he has fallen out with the gb and has published an interesting book - like many recent scholarly apologists , he seems to be going down the road of disagreeing with the authority of the gb but still holding that the jws is the one true religion.

kind of "lions led by donkeys".

whether this view will continue is anyones guess.

Whatever you want to say about the man he does have a core sense of integrity in his view and evaluation of the GB leaders from a theological perspective.

Maybe it was just a matter of these men realizing what they have and hold unto themselves and what they could possibly lose if they didn't make enforcing regulation about individuals voicing personal opinions towards certain doctrines or the organization ?

This might have come about in reflection of just how much certain people such as COs Branch heads, GB members rely on the organization for their living sustainability in housing and financial support ?

In making a firm foundation of believable acceptance around themselves (FDSL) is also effectively make a supporting stance to sustain themselves.

The equation is such ....... subjective loyal faith = money $$$
