the society is going to squeak by on 1914. in 2014, many who even adhere to the 1914 millions living prophecy will be shaken, many of those even leaving.
but the society isn't actively printing reminders about the 1914 millions living prophecy.. many of you who were/are witnesses know better than anyone that unless it's brought to their attention in 2013, they won't even notice the slip-up.
of course, there is the leeway given of up-to 2034 for this to be a bust.
Its a known fact that the WTS. hasn't promoted the mentioning of 1914 like it used to for obvious reasons.
There may be a small segment of the JWS leave based upon the realization of 2014 and 100 years have passed but since there's a
constant stream of people being indoctrinated daily, there are people who will take up the positions of ones who leave.
Unfortunately
jehovah's witnesses don't have a message.
they have an alternate lifestyle.. for persons put off by teachings of eternal torment they offer eternal sleep or a paradise earth.. for christians disaffected by tepid sermons and rituals they offer a vital lifesaving field service ministry.. in a world saturated in sex and exhibitionism, loud rude music and apathy they offer modesty of dress, cleanliness and worldwide family.. they are seen by the world much the same way as the amish only more modern.. people find their teaching quaint or laughable but think they are sincere and eager for postive change.. .
this is a brand more than a religion.. when the average person looks at jw's they see loyalty.
Religion is a show of smoke and mirrors entwined with illusions to incite and infringe upon people's emotions.
The many various religions is nothing but a display of different shows, put on by different producers and actors.

Whats even more dumb is that the JWS don't realize they are been cunningly lured and exploited to buy and sell the WTS own published works.
The WTS. has actual mentally manipulated people to think that their organization is really god's solemnly chosen organization, god's own
publishing house if you will.
And that if you support their organization, you will appease him and he will judge you kindly upon his great day of judgment known as Armageddon.

in contemplating my current beliefs in life right now, it occured to me that my views as an agnostic would probably make for a strange funeral service if my friends and family were to have one.
strange in that most funeral services always have some mention of god, and some religious context with afterlife explanations.
has anyone ever been to a non-religious funeral service for someone who was atheist or agnostic and what was it like?

There was usually someone who took control of the speeches and there were people who wanted to say something did and were able to

I liked the personal aspect to the whole affair, it was real and sincere by all who attended.

I've been to a couple and they were just a social gathering of friends and relatives , usually over at someone's house.
Retrospectively I think the person who died, probably would have wanted it just that way.
As its been mentioned already, the JWS funeral service is mostly about expressing and supporting their own doctrines,
a 30 minute JWS infomercial if you will.
my undisputed hero of the bible is known by several names, depending on who you talk to...devil, satan, lucifer, etc.. read it, and you'll find that he was the only one who really stood up for you.. he asserted that you could make decisions for yourself...and told you the very real truth that, just because the piece of meat in your chest stops thumping, you positively do not 'die'.. he was your hero.

on page 14 of the august 15th watchtower, there is an extensive section on the perils of the internet, with the caption "do you heed bible-based warnings about the internet?
" in large intimidating letters.
I can see the warning about social net working concerning child predators, looking for young girls to have sex with or
vis a versa. Thats a warning that all parents should be aware of and has been talked about in the media many times over the years.
Quite frankly I don't see the danger in FaceBook in as much due to its already in place security features of that software.
But as usual the WTS leaders have to exert their power and control overtly in any way they can.
Remember they've got the power of god in their hands and they want to exercise that the power no matter how stupidly redundant.

we all discussed the usual things, of course.. one thing i always notice.
how much of the "flavor" of god remains in one form or another.. with ex-jw's the distaste for religion is the strongest without necessarily including distaste for "belief".. religion is the package and god is the contents, you might say.. but-wait, there's more!.
Of whom and what should we point to that instigated this play and exploitation upon are insecurities and imaginations ?
Organizations that lure people to them and then take control of their thinking capabilities, lending them venerable to exploitation .

anyone who was a dub many years ago remembers people dying in malawi for the wbts.in malawi,dubs were encouraged not to have anything to do with the government and many were murdered..in mexico,it was profitable for wbts to encourage the people to do what the people in malawi were not allowed to.
i have 2 questions: was there a monatary or political gain in it for wbts?.if those people didn`t die for profit of some sort for wbts,what did they die for?.for one,i know dead dubs sell magazines,the profits from that probably helped wbts acquire property in mexico...outlaw
I remember this event back when it happened, the WTS HQ used this event as a propaganda tool to show how vigilantly faithful the JWS were in Malawi.
Again exploiting people's deaths to show yes we are god's chosen organization or we wouldn't be persecuted like we are.

The true ridiculous of human folly becomes further realized upon when people have killed others or themselves for that imaginary friend
that sat in that chair, as well the hatred and prejudice created concerning these particular imaginary friends (Gods) .
Of course individualized and organized religion as to be blamed for offering and creating these imaginary friends
in the first place, proving that religion and the human imagination can really be a potentially dangerous and damaging thing.
