JoinedI was a fourth generation jw prior to my escape. My husband of 27 years and my two sons age 18 and 21 left with me. I was lucky, in that, the only family members that are still in the borg are my mother and father (to whom there are no fond feelings) they are abusers in every sense of the word - some "abuses" I only recently discovered. My immediate family (the four of us) wrote a letter df'ing the borg in November 2007 and we are now very happy apostates and "proving prophecy that the end is close" - so glad to be of service. I was baptized at 11 (what 11 year old knows what they are doing?) and at 44 I feel like my life is FINALLY starting. My sons are both in college and so am I. My wonderful husband converted at age 19 so that he would be allowed to marry me - he never bought into it, but went along with it until I was ready to make my exodus. I am amazed that with all that the religion and my parents put him through that he did not leave me a long time ago. I am so very lucky!! I am finally happy to be alive.........and so grateful to be free!
